Very good meal

Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The owner is making a very good food for reasonnable price. I really recommand. Only one negative point: be very carefull on rooftop as métal spikes are pointing everywhere from ground. My feet finger still remenber.

Great view!

It offers a stunning view of the batad terraces. Which I loved most! I sipped my hot coffee while looking at the view. Though the place has no a/c. Coz I think its not needed anyway, it gets cold foggy in the evening. Place is for budget friendly traveler. No tv, no wifi and signal I think is kinda hard too. No hot or cold shower, but atleast water is generous. And they dont have private restroom per room but its okay, you'll just have to get up early if you want to clean up or if youre the type of person who take hrs at the shower.
The place is also cozy and quiet. If you want to just think about life or detoxify your mind. Heres the place you should visit.

Nice Stay

I decided to spend one night in the village of Batad to enjoy the peace, tranquility and nature in the beautiful valley filled with rice terraces. I wanted to escape the traffic, noise and hectic atmosphere in Banaue. The Batad pension has clean simple rooms. The place is very rustic. The rooms do not have electrical sockets, TV, bathrooms, phones or internet access. My room, room 6, simply had 2 beds and one night stand but plenty of windows to let in fresh air. I stayed in a quadruped room which had plenty of space for one person. There are electrical sockets available on the first floor in the deck area that guests can use to charge their electronics. In the room, the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable enough after being exhausted from a long day of trekking. The room does not have a fan or air conditioner, however neither was needed. The nights are cool in the mountains. I slept with all of the windows closed and used 2 blankets.
The restaurant serves good food. The staff was friendly and attentive and spoke enough English to communicate well with English speaking tourists. The hotel has a lovely deck with wonderful views of the rice terraces and mountains. I spent most of my time on the deck eating, drinking, reading, relaxing and conversing with the other guests.
I stayed here during the low season so for the most part, the place was peaceful. There were only 4 other guests staying that night. Since the restaurant is open to the public, the small deck area can become crowded with day trippers. There was a group of 18 young trekkers who stopped by for dinner and also to use the one bathroom that has a shower. Unfortunately, I had to wait a while to use the bathroom and take a shower because the trekking group occupied those rooms for quite a while.
The trekking group consisted of lively young people who simply wanted to rest, eat and clean up after a long day of trekking. The group seemed happy and was animated and loud when they had conversations. The young people also listened to music on their phones at a high volume. The visit of the trekking group certainly took away my peace and tranquility and made me feel even more uncomfortable about using the one shared bathroom with a shower. There are a total of 3 shared bathrooms with just a toilet and a bucket of water to use to flush the toilet. One of the bathrooms also has a shower and is larger in size. I was happy once the group left and I was able to once again relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of the hotel.
It is true that the bathrooms are not clean but they weren’t that bad. I used flip flops and was able to clean up well. There is adequate shelf place to put your dry clothes and toiletries. I felt great after a cool shower. The facility advertises that it has hot water but the water is actually cool, but not cold. The shower was comfortable enough for me.
Overall, the place was fine if you want a simple stay in a quiet, peaceful and beautiful mountain village. I would recommend the hotel and would stay there again. I don’t think that there are any better options in the village. The people are very poor and live in hut types of homes. I think that the hotel did the best that it could with hospitality and providing a simple and comfortable place to stay. I must note that since it is in a rural area, you will hear the roosters at the crack of dawn. However, it was still a nice escape from a busy town and a pleasant experience in a beautiful rice terrace village.

Great experience

After walking to Batad from where the van left us we had to go nearly down town to the guesthouse. It was a real philippino experience, the views were stunning, the family amazing, they took care of us really good, the food was amazing, really really good. We enjoyed it a lot because it was not like a normal hostel. It was a different experience so I would recommend these type of accommodation to adventurous people and not for people who can't live with insects and doesn't like walking. From the guesthouse we went to the view point and to the waterfall so it was a really good experience. Down town people were also very kind!

Simple but good

If you are looking for a European style 5 star hotel this is not for you. Set amongst the famous Batad rice terraces the hotel is simple but clean, there is no air conditioning but when we were there we got a nice breeze through the open windows. There is electricity and hot showers, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is very good. I thouroghly recommend it and at only £7 per night it is excellent value
