Like traveling back to the great times of bathing hotels
We spent a day at the Badehotellet in Holmsbu, and had a very pleasant stay.
We arrived at lunchtime and got to check in from noon. 12. Our room had a large terrace with table and chairs and a stunning view of the Drammensfjord. The evening sun and the sunset from there were simply beautiful, and alone worth a lot of the experience.
Dinner was also very good. We started with oysters and caviar, before we got beautiful blueberries for the main dish. The food kept a high level and the service was warm, personal and professional. The only little thing missed on the menu was a good fish meal as the main dish, in addition to the fish soup and blueberries.
The hotel is quite different from a modern hotel – and that’s the strength. The rooms are simple and spartan, but cosy and in line with the concept. The whole place has been restored with great respect for history, and the atmosphere takes you back to the great times of the bathing hotels. Here the experience is not about luxury in the modern sense, but about tranquility, charm, history and an atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere.
This is a place where the pace slows down, the shoulders fall down, and you get a little break from everyday life. The combination of the location, the view, the good food, the friendly service and the unique atmosphere make us happy to come back.

Recommend a trip to Holsmbu and Badehotellet
Great outdoor area / terrace where we enjoy a beer and a drink. Good atmosphere and super nice and gentle staff.
Nostalgically charming hotel which we would love to visit again.
