Rustic lodge with wonderful hosts

The host, Rajan, his 2 sons, Avi, and BJ were great. They go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. The lodge rooms are large and clean. The outdoor dining and seating area is great and situated in the grounds with fruit and other tropical plants. Rajan's wife prepares all the nutritious and tasty meals.
The lodge has, like many in Bardiya, had tough times with the earthquake and the pandemic affecting their income.
Our guide, Mehindra, for the walking, jeep, camping, and rafting experiences, did his best to show us all that Bardiya had to offer. We saw lots of big animal signs, but the tigers and elephant herds were hiding. However, we did see one bull elephant, three one horned rhino, and crocodiles, along with various birds, monkeys, etc.
As Avi and BJ support this lodge, I believe they will help to drive some changes and help to increase the patronage, which will help update and improve the lodge facilities.

Great place to stay to visit Bardia National Park.

I intended to stay for a few days in the Mango Tree Lodge but ended up staying two full weeks. Very nice people, always helpful and flexible. I did every day either a walking safari or jeep safari with them. Their guide is excellent, he is almost always the first to see a rhino, elephant or tiger coming out in the open. He also knows a lot about the birds in the park and recognizes many by the sound. Bardia is a beautiful park, and not very crowded.

Fantastic jungle lodge

If you're looking for a small, excellent family run jungle lodge, I strongly recommend Mango Tree Lodge. Rajen and his family have many years of experience as jungle guides and hotel owners, and all cooking is by the owner's wife - fantastic! Please come, stay, and support their business! We loved the jungle hikes, jeep safaris, and jungle camping. We saw rhinos, muggers, monitors, innumerable birds, monkeys, deer, and fleeting glimpses of a tiger and a leopard.

BEST TEAM

A diamond immersed in the jungle. This family: Rajen (head of the family) and his sons (Avi and Vin), the cook wife, are a real joy for the heart and the kindness with which they face jungle life. PROFESSIONALISM, KINDNESS, AVAILABILITY, PASSION, these are some of the words that represent this place immersed in a context full of life.
We were more than guests and probably also thanks to the absence of other guests present, we felt part of a group. We can't tell you if it's the best place ever but we can tell you with certainty that if you are looking for a place where passion for nature is first, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!
Ps: We're leaving with a tear, you were special. Thanks to the magnificent cook who delighted us with every dish possible, thanks Rajen for the professionalism and accurate answers to our countless questions, thanks Avi for the smile you gave us and for your incredible kindness, thanks Vin for your collaboration on Instagram and for being part of our experience. Let's add one last thanks to the guide, who with passion and HALLUCINATING skills guided us for these three days (long live chicken soup and red chili)
Thank you Mango Tree Lodge,
Who knows maybe we'll see each other again!
Best wishes to all of you

Very good stay

Very good stay in the mango tree lodge!
Rajen and his sons will give you a warm welcome and adapt to your wishes. The rooms are simple but spacious and efficient (a little renovations would be welcome).
Things to do are nice and really full days, a bit high price nonetheless.
Finally, take the time to chat with the owners, they are great and you can discover the real Nepalese life and history of the country. Hate that the threads take back because they have great ideas for development and improvements. Thank you for your stay!
