I really enjoyed my stay! The host was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The place is about a 15-minute drive from the city center, so it’s not right in the middle of things, but the amazing view totally makes up for it. It’s such a nice spot to chill and take in the scenery. Plus, the WiFi was really fast, which was a big win for me. Would definitely stay here again!

The wild vegetables were delicious, but...

It was the season for wild vegetables, so I was able to enjoy it, but the bath was lukewarm (they seem to alternate between the men's and women's baths) and I was disappointed!! I was also surprised to find two stink bugs invading my room!! It is advertised as a firefly inn, but I don't think I'll be back next time!!

見違えるような内装の変化にびっくり

今回で4回目の宿泊です。
20年ほど前に初めて泊まった時もご飯は美味しかったです。ほぼ満員でしたが一人旅なのに親切にしてもらいました。
四年前に泊まった時は、変わらずご飯は美味しかったのですが、だいぶ旅館にガタがきていて、何よりおかみさんが疲れているように思えました。誰かを介護されながら旅館を経営されているようで、私も一人で母を介護していましたので身につまされました。
ところが、今年行くと、鄙びた感じはありながら内装がびっくりする様に綺麗になっていました。前は女将さんしか見なかったのですが、可愛いお孫さんもいて女将さんも元気そうでした。
変わらず新潟のお米は美味しく炊き方も私好みでした。ご飯をおかずにおかずを食べるという感じで夕食・朝食をいただきました。夕食ではお櫃を空にしてしまいました。もちろんおかずも美味しかったです。
また是非泊まりたいと思いました。

癒されるひととき

越後湯沢駅からバスで30分以内で行ける宿です。この宿ではまず、森や渓谷の素晴らしい景色が目で楽しめて、質の高い温泉を体で楽しめて、郷土料理や品数が多いお料理や魚沼産コシヒカリのぬか釜炊きご飯の炊き立てを舌で楽しめます。絶品過ぎて何杯でも食べてしまいます。
この感動を皆さんにも体験してほしいです。因みに大人気の清津峡も近くにあり観光出来ます。

山の料理と風情、日本を感じさせるお宿です。

　４月下旬ですが、残雪がところどころにありました。昔ながらの古き良き日本旅館です。玄関を入るとすぐ右に風呂場、まっすぐの廊下の左右は囲炉裏と火鉢のある食堂です。客室は2階と隣の新館（といっても昭和５０年代くらいの建物）にあります。客室へは古い日本家屋によくある急な階段で行きます。お手洗いと洗面は共同で、雰囲気は昭和後期の昔の旅館そのままです。お手洗いは洋式で、それなりに更新されています。お部屋には欄間があって、床の間があって、窓辺には椅子が向かい合わせに置いてあって、なつかしさを感じる佇まいで理想的な日本旅館です。
　お部屋に入るとすぐに、おばさま（おかみさん？）がチョコレートのケーキ（タルト？）を出して下さいました。
　夕食の前に入浴しました。循環加温で決して広くはない5人くらいが限度と思われる浴室ですが、温泉に浸かるとすべすべしました。
　食事は山菜の小鉢群に始まり、刺身、うどや鳥足の山菜の天婦羅などで、ひとつひとつの量は決して多くありませんが、熊鍋を追加注文していたので、それを食べるととてもお腹いっぱいになりました。
　朝も、てづくりのお豆腐を始めとする日本旅館の朝食でとっても穏やかな気持ちで食べられました。ご飯を大きなお釜で炊いているので、ご飯をおにぎりにして持って行くようにとのことでしたので、一つ作って持って行きました。
　都会の喧噪に疲れた人、田舎がない人にはお勧めできるお宿だと思います。
　ただ、家猫？がいるので、猫が嫌いであれば考慮に入れて下さい。
