Great Value, Fabulous Stay.

What a gem! We absolutely loved our stay here. Our room had a spectacular view of the water and mountains. We watched both sunset and sunrise. Incredible. The room was spacious, bed really comfortable, water hot and WiFi good. We had a table and chairs, microwave, fridge and kettle. Our host, Tack, picked us up from the station and gave us such a warm and friendly welcome. We had 2 nights here but wished it were more. JOYinn is a lovely property. Such good value. It is in a quiet street which made for an excellent sleep. The property website was very helpful too. Tack is an amazing host, so helpful. He drove us to Mt. Omuro and explained how to get back. Also drove us to a local restaurant for dinner on our last night and picked us up. Be aware there is no breakfast or dinner provided at JOYinn. You need to bring your own food with you. We purchased some at Izu Kogen station and Tack kindly stopped at a convenience store, on the way to the property, so we could buy a few more items. This worked well for us. We had been in Japan for a month and JOYinn was our last stay apart from 1 night in Tokyo. We couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay to end our trip. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and Tack made it a special occasion. Izu Kogen and JOYinn are definitely a must for any itinerary. Thank you Tack. James and Lavinia

My favorite place that we stayed during our 2 week trip around Japan!! My sibling and I missed a train on the way from Takayama to Izu and our originally 6 hour travel plan became 12 hours. We arrived at JOYinn close to midnight, and Mr. Tack was so wonderful and accommodating! He was awake to greet us and help us with our luggage and even upgraded our room to an ocean view free of charge!! The inn was lovely and our room was perfect for us. It was comfortable and sizable and of course had a gorgeous view of the sea and mountains!! Mr. Tack offered free shuttle service in the mornings and on our last day, he even extended the time frame for us.
I think the only issue we had was the lack of things to do in the surrounding area. The neighborhood is beautiful, charming, and very pleasant to explore, but there are very few close restaurants and shops especially since I have dietary restrictions. They also open and close at kind of odd times. Thankfully, Mr. Tack kindly drove us around, and the taxis in the area were also very very cheap. Just keep in mind that there aren’t any super close attractions or convenience stores!
We had a great experience here and would definitely come again!!

The inn was in a quiet neighborhood.
The owner was very talkative and friendly. He was reachable over WhatsApp/LINE/Telegram/WeChat, and offered free pick up and drop off options at Izu Kōgen (伊豆高原) station and a few tourist spots. The stay was quiet and peaceful and I greatly enjoyed it.

Owner was absolutely amazing. The shuttle service he provided was a god send. He drops you off somewhere in the morning and picks you up in the evening. He has WhatsApp which is helpful. The dogs are very cute. We got upgraded to a bigger room. The laundry services were great too.
