The best entertainment for our family from Hungary

A very nice vacation.
The hotel is very beautiful. I also enjoyed the food. Concetta at the pool bar is the good soul of the resort. She saved me after a fall at the pool. Thank you very much.

Not a family-friendly hotel
Hotel that advertises its activities and promises. Here is all the opposite.
Breakfast offers a table full of cakes and sweets. Outside it, only loff, fight soft eggs and steamed bacon are served. Dinner offers some fish dishes and very little local delicacies.
The bathing guards are scarce present and the rules are independent of which bathing guard is at work, if they are even present.
The rooms are in poor conditioning and must have the highest quality, i.e. the most expensive to avoid insects and uninvited guests.
There are a few employees who work hard to ensure that guests have their best experiences, but difficult when there are no more on the team.
The pool is also worn and must be careful.
They advertise good children’s activities and good sports activities, but have not seen or heard any activities. Employees also say that it is not true that they represent any activities.
If you want to bring something positive, it is a short walk to the beach and there is walking distance to the train station for an unforgettable trip to Tropea. There are also good facilities for ice cream and local food at the train station. Walking distance of about 15-18 min.

Great for a young family!
We visited Hotel Sciabache, Zambrone, for the first time in July 2024 and will definitely be back. The hotel is very well maintained. It is not a super modern Dubai style resort - fortunately! This is Calabria and traditional, calm and cosy Italian style. There is a very nice staff and a beautiful beach with clear sea with a direct access from the garden. We have two young children - girls, 3 years old and 10 years old - and for a family looking for a quiet holiday with nice clean accommodation and great food, this hotel is a great choice. There is no nightlife or free alcohol (Luckily, therefore no drunk tourists), but there is a calm beautiful garden with tall pine trees and colorful oleanders and hibiscus that you walk through to the beach, also a nice pool area with two shallow pools great for kids, one deep pool for adults (in Calabria they require swim caps, which we welcome, as well as no ridiculous fighting over deckchairs with towels - there are always free sunbeds around the pool). We are happy that there was no one shouting stupid rhymes into a megaphone by the pool or constantly inviting us to an animation programme or evening disco; we don't want one. Instead, we get excellent coffee - hot or iced - at the bar, ice cream for our kids, and a thrice daily buffet full of seafood, mussels, shrimp, delicious fish and vegetables. We had full board ( breakfast lunch dinner). The buffet menu suited us perfectly. Those who don't like fish and seafood will have a difficult time. The rooms are decorated simply but efficiently. Housekeeping is top notch, cleanliness too. We had a banana and olive tree on the terrace! The greenery makes the garden quiet and cool even on hot days. Our kids loved the playground. The hotel is much sought after by local Italian tourists. Many told us they return every year for the local tranquility and great food. The hotel now has very good management, service and location I would definitely recommend. On the other hand, we did not visit the area around the hotel, the shops are far away (2km) and uphill. We had everything we needed in the resort (including ice cream, soft drinks, or chilled water bottles, as drinking water from the tap is not recommended), we did not come for shopping. For someone looking for a lively shopping environment and night entertainment, this place is not suitable from my point of view. But for us as a young family with young children it was perfect.
