Friendly welcome, comfy beds and perfect breakfast

Friendly welcome, spotless room, great breakfast. We arrived late, and met Cathy who was very friendly, offered advice about food and music nearby. Mcganns was great for a bite to eat and great traditional music, as place was busy they have a policy of adding people to every table, unusual we thought, but we met a lovely couple from Tennessee and had a great night. Breakfast was filled on a form evening before so was ready when we came down. It was perfect, tasty and lovely bright room. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Excellent location, facility and price was very reasonable. Go direct to website.

The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in!

There are many positives to this B&B. The location is super and the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. I only stayed one night and had to leave very early in the morning missing breakfast, so unfortunately I can’t comment on that. The big issue was the bed. It was rock hard and easily the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. My back was very sore the next day and I do think it was no better than sleeping on the floor. I was only booked in for a 1 night stay so it wasn’t a massive issue but I would have had to change accommodation if I was staying any longer than a night or two for this reason.

Disappointed

Stayed one night as part of a short trip to the west of Ireland, and would not recommend.
The location is fine and easy to find, with a good amount of parking available. There is a large breakfast room and a very small sitting space.
The ‘warm welcome’ was missing any warmth, like we were a nuisance just by our presence. We were handed a breakfast order form and reminded of the ‘no food waste’ policy. The room itself has fresh paint, new curtains and linens, with a small tv. The en-suite bathroom was modern, and as a nice touch, included a separate small towel for makeup removal.
A mattress is a personal preference but the bed was very uncomfortable and you could feel every spring as you turned over. It was one of the worst nights sleep I’ve had in a long time. A check in the morning showed it was sagging and in need of replacement. The breakfast was a disappointment, and was miserly as half the plate was empty. One egg, 6 small mushrooms, two skinny breakfast sausages, a slim piece of bacon, a triangle of bread, and one tiny tomato. One table asked for extra toast and one single piece was bought in a basket. There was a jug of orange juice on the breakfast buffet but once one table of two had poured a glass of juice each, the jug was empty. The other tables went without orange juice as the jug was instead refilled with cordial / dilute. Normally an Irish breakfast at a B&B is to be savoured but this wasn’t.

A Top Class B&B

The Piper’s Rest B&B in Doolin is the perfect place to stay for a visit to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and other points of interest around County Clare. Our host Jacquie gave us a very warm welcome, but even before then Aidan and Jacquie had sent us an email detailing lots of handy information about the property itself, the local pub and dining scene (with at least 3 great pubs within easy walking distance), transport options and local tourism. Our room was delightfully appointed, very comfortable and with a great bathroom/shower. Very appreciative that Jacquie was able to move us to a ground floor room as we have trouble with stairs! Breakfasts were superb, served in a lovely dining room and I loved that Jacquie rotated us around different tables each morning! The property also has ample off-street parking. Piper’s Rest is simply a top class B&B.

Perfect place to stay in Doolin!

My husband and I stayed here for just one night after hiking the Cliffs of Moher with Ollie's tours with Connor, walking the Aillwee cave and visited Hazel Mountain Chocolate ( so, a long, active day). We stayed in the Keenan room which has skylights and we had lovely views of the sun setting. It was so clean, very quiet and so pretty. We ordered our breakfast the night before and our table was ready the next morning with our fruit out for us and then our hot breakfast order was taken. Doolin is just so pretty and quiet and Piper's Rest B&B was just right. I would have liked to have stayed another night or 2 in the area, but it was the end of our trip. It was only a 60 min drive to Shannon Airport.
