Swiss Cottege (Annex)

Went on the spur, as we had landed in a dirty hotel (Hotel Himalaya). The hotel is close to High Court and walkable to the Mall Road.
We went to the main hotel and were shown a room for 2 adults and 2 children which had 2+2 beds , like a bunker cot, small but cute. We did not take it as the price offered was high. They suggested their other hotel next door which was okay.
We got a room on the first floor, pricey and we took it as we were too tired.
The room was little small, with a balcony. Washroom was decent and clean.
They have a small restaurant in the ground floor. Breakfast was good, though the items were less.
Nainital was cold, spent couple of days.

Amazing stay

Our stay was absolutely amazing! The food was exceptionally good — every meal was delicious. The property itself was very cozy, clean, and welcoming. It's a highly recommended place for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The property owner was incredibly humble and kind, greeting us warmly and making us feel right at home. The overall atmosphere was very friendly and pleasant. We truly had a great experience and would definitely love to come back!

AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE

We booked the Swiss cottage, God knows why it's called a cottage, it's just a room staring into a wall of the backroad! The bedsheets were stained, the pillows were tainted we asked them to change the sheets, they got some more dirty sheets with more pronounced stains!!! The place was dirty & unkept. The bathroom was clogging with feet deep water collecting each time. Some water was there on the side of the bed collecting too! Cherry on the cake, someone comes & bangs our door at 3:30-45 AM wakes us up from our sleep to ask for the car keys so that they can move the care (the driver was sleeping in the car) We were two women in the room so it was one scary astonishing event. When we were leaving, we voiced our opinion to the man at the reception he seemed absolutely disinterested in our rant & concern, the younger guy quickly snuck away to avoid the situation altogether! Pathetic is ab understatement

A Remarkable Stay at Swiss Cottage Hotel, Nainital

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Swiss Cottage Hotel in Nainital, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the friendly and welcoming staff at Swiss Cottage Hotel made me feel right at home. Their warm hospitality and attentive service added a personal touch to my stay, and I was consistently impressed by their dedication to ensuring guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

happiness experienced again

I went to this hotel again on 19-22/04/0204. Earlier we went there in 2017. Some part of it has changed, like entrance has changed. See old videos here and compare with new videos/ pics I’m posting today. But the beauty and charm of this place is the same. The stay here in 2017 was a memory we cherished, and we renewed the charm again. The hotel is located near high court and the way is little steep, little far from mall road but if you want a peaceful stay then hotels here are the best choices. And Swiss Cottage is one of the best. More because of the caring staff and wonderful owner. Every moment during the stay was a moment of bliss. You can take a bike on rent if you are not having any vehicle. Food is delicious. Do try fresh lime soda. I loved it here . I requested for bonfire but both when I returned the bonfire was already on so I played my music on the speakers provided by the hotel… I cannot tell how much I enjoyed that time. The hotels near mall road may be little costlier and they provide lesser space in rooms. The rooms here are spacious. And the facade is beautiful. I will go on to express my love for this place but it’s better you see the photos and try to imagine the love in this place.. visit to experience . Good wishes .. enjoy life. Enjoy Nainital .. I love Nainital

The rooms are of heritage properties so not having modern interiors but furnishings are good and very pleasant. Most of the hotels in Nainital would provide similar interiors. Fire place is also there. (Ours was the heritage room so other rooms may be different. Please check before finalising)
Nearby activities
Not much is there in close proximity to this hotel but that would happen everywhere. Not everything would be nearby. However cave garden is nearby but I think it’s not the worth to spend ticket of Rs 100 there. (I didn’t go inside it). High court is about 100 metres away. And mall is little far. Hotel may help by providing cab. I had my own cab so didn’t face any problem.
Walkability
Roads are steep but walkable. Locals walk easily but oldies of delhi may find it difficult.
Food & drinks
Enjoy lovely food and drinks. If the weather is cold, get bonfire and enjoy music. Enough options of food and drinks available.
Noteworthy details
To go anywhere and come back isn’t for old people due to steep road. However still old people visit here . Mall road is little far but for youngsters it’s nothing… you may enjoy the walk. Sabji mandi and market is on the road. Fresh Sabji (vegetables) are available in the morning 7-11 am.
