Casa Jaali - a great stay!

Casa Jaali is genuinely special — and Room 9 might be its best-kept secret.
We stayed from July 6–10 and I'll say upfront: the things that make this property great, make it really great. But a couple of recurring issues are worth flagging honestly.
THE ROOM
We stayed in Room 9 and I'd recommend requesting it specifically. The privacy is unmatched, the sea view is stunning, and the décor — a green and pink theme — is thoughtfully put together. It's the kind of room you don't want to leave.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Both were seamless. Staff was helpful and efficient, no complaints there at all.
CAFÉ & FOOD
Top notch. Yes, vegetarian options are limited, but what's on the menu is well-prepared and Chef Pawan went out of his way to accommodate our customisations — that kind of flexibility doesn't go unnoticed. Their Basque cheesecake is exceptional. Don't skip it.
THE DOWNSIDE — and it deserves a real mention
There are dogs that roam the property freely. One dog repeatedly occupied our beach bed outside the room — sitting on the mattress daily, dragging garbage onto it one night, which led to an ant problem on the mattress. It was frustrating to return to every day and was never resolved. At dinner, dogs sat under or beside tables throughout our meals. For dog lovers this may feel charming. For guests who aren't — or who, like me, have health reasons to avoid close animal contact — it was a consistent and unaddressed inconvenience. The property needs a clear policy on keeping dogs out of guest-dedicated spaces.
WIFI
Intermittent throughout. Manageable if you're there to unplug, an issue if you're not.
OVERALL
The ambiance, quietness, sea view, greenery, food and service are genuinely excellent. Casa Jaali is a beautiful, well-run property and the staff care. The dog management issue is the one thing standing between a great stay and a perfect one — and it's fixable.

Lovely accommodation. Stayed here a few times now

I have stayed at Jaali a few times now, in different rooms and before that i used to go to their Patnem/Palolem cafe. I had a great time - This time round i stayed in the very end large Grand Sea room 9 and it was lovely.. Good size, lovely view and wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and have breakfast on our balcony to the same sound. Rooms are very tasteful and I love that they give you really lovely drip coffee bags in your room. Staff v nice too. I am giving Jaali a 5 star review because in general i think it's a 5 star place but I do have two negatives about my stay which i think are worth mentioning - First - there were lots and lots of biting large red ants all up the side wall of the balcony (of room 9) and they kept getting on the sun loungers and outdoor towels and all around the door frame and if you left the window open they came into the room - there was a bit of a battle to get rid of them which was a shame as it became a bit of drama trying to get them out of the room....However, we mostly dealt with them and it is a great accommodation in a lovely spot which is in the middle of a stunning nature spot so things like this can of course happen. The second negative is - although the food at jaali is really lovely the breakfast is really quite limited. Although they have a great extensive breakfast menu for some strange reason if you are a guest the free breakfast is very limited and if you are vegan or gluten free the menu is even more limited still. If you are staying there for a week, after day 2 or 3 you just have to repeat the same breakfast and it gets very boring, which is a shame for an accommodation that does such lovely food in general. When i was there this March the general menu got even further reduced because of the America Iran war and Indias oil shortage. The oil shortage meant they couldn't cook as much of the menu and instead replaced lots of the menu with salads etc . Because of this however , in the last couple of days of my 7 night stay the staff very kindly let me have my choice of anything from the full breakfast menu instead of just the limited guest breakfast menu and that made it far more pleasant to eat there in the mornings . I think Jaali is a great accommodation, in a lovely part of patem/Colomb, but with a few tweaks it could be perfect :)

A Truly Restorative Stay at Jaali Blue, Goa

We’ve been visiting Goa for many years, but our stay at Jaali Blue has been, without question, the most comfortable, stylish, and memorable experience to date.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is something special. The interiors, designed and curated by the owner, are absolutely exquisite. Every detail feels intentional, blending understated luxury with a calming aesthetic that genuinely soothes the nervous system. It’s rare to find a space that feels both high-end and deeply restful, but Jaali Blue achieves this beautifully.
The rooms are thoughtfully equipped with blackout curtains, excellent air conditioning, and soundproofing, which meant we slept better than we have in a long time. It truly felt like a reset.
Mornings were just as magical, with complimentary breakfast at Casa Jaali overlooking sea views, surrounded by lush tropical gardens. It was the perfect way to start each day.
Jaali Blue isn’t just a place to stay, it's an experience of care, design, and tranquility. We left feeling restored and already know we’ll be returning. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something special in Goa.
