Amazing place great service

This place has an amazing vie to lake Petén. Has canoes the guest can use when ever is day light . The lake is literally to the steps of the yard . The food is amazing the service as well. The staff super friendly. Hey java a great pool u can use. The have this lil kiosks u can go have a drink at night or just lay by the lake on a hammock is amazing. And from there is an hour away fron the Mayan ruins. With r very nice to see.

oneof the most beautiful hotle I have ever stayed in

What shame I was there only for 2 nights (gAdventures). Absolutely amazing place by the lake surrounded by palm trees. rooms very large, lovely bathroom, food exceptional good and lovely owner.. what more to expect...

Very enjoyable

Stayed a couple nights here. The location is fantastic - right on the water of the lake. The rooms were nice and clean, with hot showers and good water pressure. Comfortable beds, too. Wi-Fi located in the common areas was a bit slow, but worked fine. The food was tasty - breakfast, lunch, dinner - all good. There's a bar area with local beers and you can have cocktails made. Laundry service on site.
There are kayaks and a paddle boat for use on the lake, free of charge. Nice to take out in the morning. There's also a pool and a hammock area.
The owner (I believe he was the owner) was present during our stay, and even helps with the cooking. A very nice guy with perfect English.
Overall this place was great! I would have loved to spent more time here. A quiet stay.

Terrible customer service!!!

WILL NOT REFUND A RESERVATION MADE IN ERROR
I booked a reservation for jan 13-20th and realized I had the wrong dates so went back in and changed my reservation for the 9-13. After I had booked my stay I realized this was 'San Jose Guatemala' not 'San Jose, Costa Rica' as I thought it was. I went back and cancelled my whole booking. this all happened within a 16 minute time frame.
I check my visa and the hotel has already charged me with $561.72 for a stay I never took even though I already cancelled my stay.
I phoned the hotel and they refused to refund me saying they have strict policies about refunds.
They sure had no problem taking my money immediately.
I have never had a hotel treat me in such a fashion before, completely deceitful and just plain unfair.
I have never dealt with a hotel this badly run before... I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I will be posting my experience and reviews on every site about this hotel

GREAT food, drinks, a bit like camping!

First the greats: great hospitality by owner and staff, nice swimming in lake, DELICIOUS marinated pork chops and chicken for dinner, best salad in Central America, good breakfast, great margaritas and frozen drinks! Rooms are large and ok, like so many places in the region, there is no a/c in the rooms so expect a few critters. But I love this place and would come back. Nice chairs to relax on by every room outside.
