A paradise!

Wonderfully quiet traditional houses with several studios in Sapsila, about 3km outside Skala. The landlords (Giacoumina and Theo) are super nice, on request you are also picked up at night from the port or driven to Skala. The studios are very nicely decorated, all with air conditioning and WIFI as well as covered shaded terrace with table and chairs, some with beautiful sea views. Practically equipped kitchen with 2 hotplates, fridge, kettle and Nespresso capsule machine. Enough dishes for several people available. Nice bathrooms and very comfortable beds, also nicely furnished living area with sofa. everything is very clean, the daily room service perfect !
To the small but fine sand stand (flat sloping and also suitable for children, in summer with tavern operation) it is 2 minutes on foot, equal distance to a rocky stand where you can super snorkel.
Since Sapsila is just outside and it has only in scale shopping, a mobile coaster (rental car, quad bike, scooter) is recommended. A rental car costs in Skala in the low season about 30 euros/day, in the high season probably a little more, then you should also reserve). In 10-15 minutes walking distance some nice taverns in Grikos or Lefkes, many very good restaurants in Skala.
We enjoyed the stay to the fullest and can recommend this accommodation without restriction!

Authentic Greek hospitality!

Very nice rooms. Comfortable and very clean. Close to 2 beaches, Skala and Chora. We felt the genuine Greek hospitality of a small family business. As for beaches, we liked Agrio Livadi, an organized beach with very helpful and polite staff.

Great holiday

Perfect

I stayed here for 5 days in July and I just loved it. The location in Sapsila means you need to have transportation but if you don't want to rent a scooter or car then you can call a taxi as you need it to come pick you up, that what I did.
The location of Mathios studios is peaceful, quiet and beautiful, there is really nothing nearby except a great little swimming area behind the studios but it is really rocky so you may want to bring along some water shoes especially if you are taking children to swim there.
This place is perfect if you want to stay somewhere not overrun by tourists. My studio had a nice little balcony, a basic bathroom and the kitchen was good for making basic meals. The a/c and wifi worked just fine and as long as you are not looking for a fancy experience but more of a local one than you will probably love this place as much as I did.

Wonderful and Relaxing Place To Stay on Patmos

Mathios Studios are wonderful: beautiful, clean rooms and kitchenettes; the gardens are delightful, with numerous places to sit and relax. Giakoumina is a wonderful hostess: always available but never intrusive. She picked us up from the ferry, pointed us to numerous beaches and places to visit. We felt very comfortable. The studios are a five minute ride from the port and within walking distance to two beaches and a great restaurant just up the hill. When we return to Patmos we will stay again with Giakoumina.
