Minden rendben van a szállással.

Nagyon kedves személyzet. Segítőkész mindenki. A reggeli bőséges változatos. A szoba tiszta tágas. A teraszról látod a tengert és a hegyeket. A kert végen van lehetőség úszni. A medence tiszta jó meleg. Minden rendben van a szállással. Köszönöm szépen Timi és István.

I stayed at Blue Waves so you don’t have to

I booked 7 days with my best friend. The main selling point was the pool and closeness to the beach at the price of 673 for 2 people for 1 week.
I don t know if many people will have the patience to read all so I’m going to preface it with: we didn’t t expect luxury or modernity. We were aware of the small price. We believe that even the most modest accommodations need to be cleaned. The rest of the details are to give an accurate representation of the place. We thought a lot if we should leave this review and decided that some people work all year for this vacation and they should get what they paid for and enjoy it.
Here is how it went:
-pool is not cleaned daily how it should be- there are always bugs floating and getting the bugs is the only cleaning we ve seen them doing. Pool looks like it hasn’t been fully cleaned in years, judging by the yellow-rusty edge and the gras growing on the bottom of the pool
-they only provide one towel per person per week. This was a huge nono for us and we tried to get understanding, but to no avail. From the way they were trying to excuse themselves, our conclusion was that they have a fixed number of towels per hotel capacity—they have direct access to the sea but you cannot swim as the shore is full with algae due to lack of cleaning. We concluded that as accommodation next door has same access and they cleaned.
-the little carpet in the bathroom is very very old and not of good material, the result after many many soakings being a good environment for fostering bacteria
-we called to inquire about any services for airport pickup and no one answered the phone. We ended up changing 2 buses and waiting for 1,5 hrs at the change point, arriving at around 7 hence losing most of that day.
When we booked we were a bit taken away by the fact there were just a few reviews compared with the tenure of the place, but we brushed it off. Now, after arriving here and noticing these things, we did a bit of research. In the garden, as you enter, there s a name carved in the pavement: Alexandra. This lead us to discover its not indeed a new place, it was just rebranded. Leaving below the links of the old naming s.
Now, i don t know if its just a rebrand or new owners, reading the reviews of the old place, a lot of bad things don t happen anymore.

Which brings me to the positive (absolutely normal things that we have come to be grateful for considering the above):
-no bugs in the room of any sort
-free air conditioning
-a pool bar with food and snacks (things like sandwiches are not great, but they ll do)
Plain positives
-5 min walking distance from Green bus stop (just be weary that sometimes they arrive even 2-3 hrs late)
-5 min walking distance from a shop with food, drinks, towels, etc
-10 min walking distance from Kavos party center and beach
-the garden is as pretty as it looks in the pictures
Other honorable mentions:
-the location is at ~1 hrs by car from the airport. Uber is gonna take you around 140 euros, bus is gonna take you around 7 but you have to change 2 buses.
-we found refuge at the neighbors next door, Sandy Beach for food and pool. They were very welcoming, they had music around the pool, a lot of people( compared to blue waves where there were hardly any people and no music)
-one of the ladies at blue waves is very smiley and nice - Cristina is her name

Just don't book!

My friend and I (22) booked this aparthotel through a Tui package deal and stayed for a week. From start to finish, our experience in this place did not get off to the best start and barely improved.
The first major concern was that we were dropped off by our transfer in the middle of a dark main road and were told to walk down an unlit walkway to reach the aparthotel. Upon arriving, I saw a letter stuck on their gate notifying me that the staff had gone to bed but that my key was waiting for me in my room door. This immediately made me feel uneasy but I remained optimistic.
The room itself was very basic but mostly clean. Thankfully the aircon worked well and the room was fairly spacious. However, that is where the positives end. On our first night, it rained heavily and leaked through the roof onto us while we slept, there were persistent scratching noises in the walls which woke us up every night, and there were no curtains/net on one of the windows. The mugs provided also were not cleaned properly. To our dismay, we also found out quickly that the hotel was not equipped to replace our towels or clean our sheets for our ENTIRE STAY, and looked bewildered when asked to do so. This was unhygienic and made us feel uncomfortable.
The bathroom itself was tiny, with a small cubicle for the shower. When used, water went all over the floor and flooded the old-looking shower mat for the entire week. The toilet itself did not flush properly for the last few days, so I avoided using it.
Aside from this, the 'balcony' is essentially just the walkway outside the rooms. This means they are not separated out from the others and offer no privacy to relax. This area is also occupied with many bugs especially later in the evening. One night when my friend and I were on our way out, we found that our neighbours had actually just taken our table and chairs from our balcony to use for themselves. The lack of social etiquette was astounding.
The breakfast was pretty basic, and had many flies in the area so we avoided it altogether for most of the week. The beach area appeared unclean with lots of seaweed and some dirty/broken chairs at the sea edge. Unfortunately, the pool also looked unclean so we also felt too uncomfortable to use it. Also, the staff themselves were a little unapproachable, they never said "hello" or "good morning", and never greeted us properly after not being able to meet us upon arrival. The manager and the rest of the staff also spoke very little to no English so it was difficult to communicate and to ask questions.
The location of the aparthotel itself is not too bad. But, what was meant to be a 10 min walk to the strip honestly felt like 25 mins long every time. The walk to the strip is along the dimly lit main road, which looks derelict and dodgy. On one of our times out at night, we saw someone excreting at the side of the road. As young girls, we felt quite unsafe and on edge when walking down this road, especially at night.
Overall, our stay was deeply disappointing and definitely not worth the price paid. Even while trying to keep optimistic, I cannot deny the number of faults we encountered. There was not even a Tui representative present at any point of our stay for us to make enquiries. I am aware that this aparthotel has changed names a few times, and when reading previous recent reviews I am honestly in disbelief at the amount of positive reviews. I would definitely not recommend this place, and honestly, it has deterred me from returning to Kavos entirely.
