No sleep possible. Ballermann nights
The hostel Website states that the accommodation is noisy. That's why every guest gets two earplugs. The brightness is very true, you get every sound on the ship as clearly as if you were standing right next to it.
However, the real problem with this hostel is that it is really only suitable for groups of party tourists or for school classes who do not sleep all night.
During our complete stay of 5 days we could not sleep more than three hours on any night!
Examples:
For several nights, about 30 schoolchildren romped through the entire ship from 9 pm to 3 am (!!!), yelled, heard loud music from Bluetooth boxes brought along, drummed against doors and walls. Another guest therefore freaked out in the middle of the night so that almost the police were called in. There was almost a physical altercation.
When the school classes had left, a group of party tourists immediately moved in, who came on the ship drunk in the early hours of the morning with extreme loudness. We stood vertically in the beds. Earplugs don't help either.
Furthermore, someone started the washing machine regularly at about 5 a.m. You could feel the vibration through the ship and hear it too. Sleep was over.
The hostel is not clairvoyant, but absolutely unsuitable for people who want to sleep at night for at least a few hours to start the next day refreshed.
I strongly warn other people to stay here as individual travellers, as couples or even with children if sleep is important to them.
The pyjamas over the entire stay were physically extremely stressful and partly pure psychoterror. We feel exhausted and sick after staying at this hostel.
I would like to expressly exempt the very friendly staff who work at the hostel. Every single employee was really very gracious. So I am sorry about this poor review, because the staff can't help it. However, it doesn't help if you can't sleep and suffer for nights. There is no manned reception, no supervision at all and the night horror begins.

Lovely authentic place to stay but remember; no ensuite ;-)
The bedrooms are ok, comfortable enough, and the breakfast is very good. Very good value for money.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is good for exploring Dresden
