Love the Ruby Ella Cologne

Hello I could not check out without leaving a review. The Ruby Ella Cologne is so comfy, minimalist but bold in elegance. The lobby is everything! I returned to Köln because I grew up and the location was perfect to my neighbors I use to live in as well. A few stain stops in either direction you will be here you need in less than 15 mins. Melanie was the best employee to help me with all my questions and ensure I had a smooth check in process. She was so professional to every guest after and before me. I will be coming back Melanie! Always a pleasure to stop by Ruby Ella in Cologne. Design of the hotel, reception and room is great. Personnel is very welcoming. Organic food at breakfast is delightful. Walking distance from city center, great parking. Great place to stay as usual.

Disappointing customer service - lack of goodwill

Disappointing customer service.
An obvious booking error via booking.com (2 rooms instead of 1 room for 2 people) was not to be corrected free of charge despite a lead time until July 2027. I would have expected significantly more goodwill from a customer-oriented hotel here – especially as a long-time guest.
For me, that was the last booking at a Ruby Hotel.

Es tut uns leid zu lesen, wie unglücklich sich das für dich entwickelt hat. Gerade wenn etwas bei einer Buchung schief läuft, soll sich der Umgang damit fair und gut begleitet anfühlen – erst recht, wenn du uns schon lange kennst.
Buchungen über externe Portale sind bei bestimmten Preisarten sehr strikt gehandhabt. Wenn ein nicht erstattungsfähiger Tarif über einen Drittanbieter gewählt wurde, lassen sich nachträgliche Anpassungen leider nicht vornehmen. Für zukünftige Reisen passt oft unser flexibler Tarif besser: Damit kannst du bis zum Tag vor Anreise kostenfrei umbuchen oder stornieren und bleibst entspannter, falls sich etwas ändert.
Wir hoffen, dass du uns in Zukunft doch noch einmal die Gelegenheit gibst, wieder einen besseren Eindruck bei dir zu hinterlassen.

Lovely hotel - the surrundings was bad and people was throwing up in the entrance to the hotel and party was loud. But the hotel was nice.

Nice and modern hotel

We stayed here two nights during a citry trip and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were neat and the service very friendly (they knew enough English). Breakfast is served in the cosy bar and includes a tasty, healthy selection. There is more than enough provided for vegetarians and vegans. The tea can be made with reusable, fabric tea bags and fresh ingredients such as ginger and mint.
The cocktail we drank in the evening was also excellent!
Only downside is that the blackout curtains do not close completely. Our room was adjacent to the parking lot where street lights were constantly shining and also in the middle of the night light was pouring in along the edges and crevices. The automatic faucet was also there feeling and, for example, jumped on when I wanted to put on makeup.
