Don't monkey around when it comes to choosing a hostal.

I came across this hostal by divine appointment. I met Freddy,, the Funky Monkey's Host, and every day has been a real delight. A quiet, relaxing environment with an adequite size swimming pool to refresh one on a hot day. The staff is pleasant and very helpful and when I return to Guayaquil this will be my first and only choice. It is conveniently located by a large mall in a preferred neighborhood By far the funkyist monkey I have ever experienced.

Got stuck in guayaquil

We missed a bus so we decided to take the cheap opportunity to stay in this hostel.
The manager was friendly but the room was not clean, smelly and on top of that we had roaches.
The bathroom is nothing you want to really go into and 8 dollars is way too much even if we knew that it's a cheap hostel.
I suggest going to another place.

Not the most Welcoming Stay

We chose this hostel as it was walking distance from the bus station, and and we were tired from a long ride.
We were greeted by a lady (no English) who had very little information about the hostel and we waited 15minutes for her to get ahold of the owner.
He was very quick and made us feel rushed. Thankfully we negotiated a reasonable price for the private room. We only stayed one night. (As we found a hostel cheaper with more to offer).
The room had air conditioning and clean sheets. Perfect for a nights stay.
The kitchen was grose. There was ants everywhere. There was only a half bar fridge available to put our food. The door barely closed and I woke up to ants all over our breakfast. There was also no gas for the stove. But to our surprise a fresh jug of water on the filter.
At night they open a not budget friendly “street food” Resteraunt. I think they care more about the Resteraunt than the hostel.

Did not love this place

Found the place very dirty. I arrived and waited for 45 minutes as the waitress said the owner was on their way. They never showed. Eventually, the waitress let me into a room and took my money. The room did not have a/c and there was a loud fan that worked but looked very unsafe. The bathroom was small and dirty. It looked like the place hadn't been cleaned in weeks. No free towels were given as indicated in the description either nor were there any safe place to store valuable. Would not stay here

Nice and near the airport

Stayed here as it’s close to the airport. No breakfast included, WiFi was very good, walking distance to the airport and a shopping centre to eat. Bed was comfy with air con- our dorm was more or less a private room. Bathroom was good. They let us print our flight tickets at no extra cost which was nice. They have the best pets! Took them a while to answer the door when we arrived but it was like 6am and they had checked us into the room early which we were grateful for.
