Good location

I recommend this hostel for those who wants to travel on a budget to the cozy Valparaiso. The hostel is clean and well maintain. They have 3 floors including the roof (terraza) which is great to admire the ocean. Quiet place open 24 hours.

Meet the minimum

While the room is comfortable it has many shortcomings as well as service. First, the good stuff. We were in an economical room to be double and with private bathroom, also had a suitable size and many furniture to have your things organized. The place has 2 terraces with very nice view. The place is quiet, the schedules are respected and there are no annoying noises either in the place or in the surroundings, so you can rest well. We feel safe there, the neighborhood is nice, has many places to visit (shops of all kinds, museums, elevators nearby, viewpoints, restaurants, bars).
Now the bad. There was a receptionist with an unpleasant attitude who wouldn’t even say hello (young woman with short hair) and another woman who also works in reception who makes phone calls constantly and at a very high volume. The sheets were very worn and the choice of design was absolutely inadequate (light grey with coffee and English news texts, which did not allow to know if they were clean or not), the towels also very worn and also percussed, the shower had some mushrooms at the junctions, generated a loud and unpleasant noise and had a hard time setting its temperature (it went from hot to cold without allowing intermediate point, plus the water has pressure problems). It is a pity that terraces with such a beautiful view are abandoned, undecorated, dirty and full of bad bedding and cushions.

Highly recommend!

Great atmosphere that really suited the relaxed vibes of Valparaiso, staff were friendly and fluent in English, substantial and tasty breakfast, rooftop terrace had a beautiful view of Valparaiso. Great location in Cerro Alegre - lots of murales, cafes and restaurants nearby, less than 10 minute walk to Plaza Sotomayor. Definitely one of the best hostels we have stayed at in South America

Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in

My friend and I arrived in Valparaiso so happy with our surroundings and were excited to stay in this hostel. We saw it from the outside and thought it looked inviting... boy were we wrong. The owners were so unprofessional and rude and the bedding looked like it had not been washed in about 5 years. We walked past the laundry and there were piles of sheets and dirty clothes. The kitchen was disgusting and there was NO breakfast included. The owners were very unhelpful and the hostel is very over priced. I would not stay here again even if someone paid me. The lockers were broken and there was only one tiny locker available. They also had a lot of promotion for smoking weed in the hostel and had a tip jar out the front that said “tips for weed” this could make the wrong person very uncomfortable. There was no PowerPoints and the overall vibe was very dark and dingy. My friend and I felt unsafe and uncomfortable the entire time. There was also only 1 toilet and 1 shower and we didn’t shower due to it being SO dirty. Also the toilet paper in the bin was overflowing and wasn’t emptied. So horrific! Do not stay here!

DO NOT STAY HERE

The dirtiest, grottiest, filthiest place I have ever stayed in. Owners are high and super un professional. We were not welcomed at all and we got a seriously creepy and rude vibe from the male owner. One toilet to share between the whole floor of the hostel- and one shower. Floors are covered in filth and grot. If I could give this hostel a zero I would. NO BREAKFAST!!!!!!!! There is no breakfast. Do not stay here!!!!!!!!
