Comfortable home away from home

The cottage was cute and adorable. It was Was set up with pretty much everything we needed except for our food. There was a laundromat within a 10-minute walk when we needed to do laundry. The host was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Location to town was perfect, but far enough away that it was quiet.

Cosy and characterful cabins - friendly hosts, too.

Quirky and cosy cabin - easily big enough for the four of us and our luggage (backpacks/holdalls). The bathroom's quite small but it all works - lots of hot water - and we cooked in the kitchen pretty much every day we were there.
The beds are ok although perhaps could be better.
The outside deck is great and we spent plenty of time out there.
Chrissy and Yuri are really nice hosts - friendly, helpful and laid back.
It's a few minutes pleasant walk into downtown Banff and one of the best walking trails we did (the Hoodoos lookout) starts quite close to the cabins.
Definitely recommended if you like a bit of character!

Lovely bungalow but seriously let down by the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in!

Lovely and homely bungalow ideal for a couple or two single travellers (too small in my opinion for a family as there is no space to store luggage) however all the positives were lost after the first night when we realised how uncomfortable the beds are (we tried both in desperation to have s reasonable night’s sleep). Mattresses must be very old and they are soft so you both end sinking in the middle of the bed, glued to each other, and each time you move you wake up the other person. Bearing in mind we are both short and fairly average sized, I would hate to imagine how someone larger or with back problems would find the bed! We had four nights of poor sleep which is not great on holiday!

Looks great from a distance.....

We stayed here for 3 nights as this seemed the best option for June in Banff. We were aware that the beds were a little on the small side.
What we didn't expect, and what keeps this from being a better review is the extremely poor quality of the mattresses and pillows.
No matter how convenient a location, how rustic and non hotel generic, or how nice the owners are {all of which lives here}, if you can't get a good night's rest, then the room is a failure.
The saggy, old beat up and cheap to begin with mattresses should have been retired long ago.
Skip this place until the owners invest a few nights rent in new mattresses and pillows.
