Kind and super convenient

It was the second time we stayed at this hotel as a family and we will probably do it again when needed. The room was both times with kitchenette, so we were able to cook lunches and suppers. It is basically equipped : pan, pot, bowl, cutlery, cups, glasses and plates. It has 2 electric stoves and a fridge. We also had breakfast at the hotel and used vending machines in the evening to get some beer and snacks. The location is perfect. Yohave 5 minutes to U2, line. And the biggest plus, which I forgot to mention before, is the parking space. For us, that came by cae, it was super important. Also the accessibility from highway was smooth. And the staff is sooooo very friendly and at your disposal. They checked us in 3hours before checking time. I highly recommend for families!

Good alternative to a "conventional" hotel.

The Asperner Lion is certainly not a normal hotel. The rooms are more like fitters' apartments with a mini kitchen and refrigerator. But you can also spend the night here much cheaper than in a "normal" hotel - especially during trade fair times. From the fairgrounds it is only a few metro stations and you are there. The vending machines only accept coins and the choice is manageable. The vegetation right in front of the windows caters for many six- and eight-legged visitors and the breakfast offer is limited. But the "Asperger Lion" scores points with incredibly friendly staff and e.g. the opportunity to watch the nice ladies slicing the fruit salad by hand every morning (this one doesn't come out of the freezer bag !).
If now the safe in the room had been big enough for my laptop and hadn't been used up for the shower on two out of five days of hot water, I would have probably awarded even more points.
For the next visit to Vienna I will definitely think about staying here again and prefer to shower in the evening and leave the laptop at home.

Nice hotel, good sized room, good location close to U2

Good large parking lots (3 in total), free parking. Check in was pleasant and easy. We were on the floor one flight of stairs up – though … there is an elevator which is so nice with suitcases.
The room is large, very clean and well appointed. The room has an entry area with a place to hang coats and a bench, bathroom on the right. There is a wardrobe with a safe. The bathroom is small, but modern and efficient. There is a kitchen with table with benches and chairs. There is a cooktop, sink, fridge and plates and various other kitchen items. There is a sofa bed located between the kitchen and beds – handy place to put our suitcases. Beds are comfortable but orientation is a bit strange. There are two lights above one bed and no lamp for the other. There is a table behind the bed and we move the lamp from the dining table to behind the second bed, which worked fine. Good electrical plug-ins are available.
Breakfast is good with good service and reasonable at 7 euro each. Good coffee (tea is also available), orange juice, breads, jams, butter, hard and soft boiled eggs, cold meats and cheeses, yogurt and granola, cereals.
Location next to the U2 train and bus station, just a few minutes’ walk. The station had eating options. We found the transit easy to use and the ticket machines offered an English option. Our visits to the Prater and the next day downtown were easy and enjoyable.
This hotel is good and I would recommend and return.

Old facilities

I really like the staff, they are helpful and friendly. We stayed in room No. 6, The room is also clean but the facilities are quite old. With the amount of money, we paid I expected a better facility. I won't take this place next time.

Very basic

+ Big parking in front, close to metro, green backyard, stuff mostly nice
- do not offers double beds for couples as it is promised. Just 2 wodden beds pushed together. moving apart all night. Smell in hotel is not nice, you can sense cigarettes. It is noisy during the week. At the backyard there is a workshop with steel, (photo). Hotel in green and yellow color with a lot of glases one must have really specific taste to like it. In kichenette no kettle for coffie. Equipment is old, towels are old and worned...if you take sheets off the bed amd put it on the floor they will change it otherwise even if dirty they won’t. Breakfast, nothing big but its disguasting when you find mold on vegetable, we have foto of it... It was just once in three day but still. You can’t get expresso. Just american coffe. There aren’t a hotel bar and also not any arround the hotel.
Note: a lot of familly with kids, one who wants to eat in peace this is not the place for him/her
