Very warm welcome from Rene, Philip and Lena at this hotel now called the Au Pension. Clean, warm rooms and towels provided. Buffet breakfast and lovely 4 course evening meals using meat and vegetables from their own farm. Hotel in a good position with Ski Bus stop outside the hotel next door. There is a ski room with heated racks for ski boots but it's easier to leave your boots and skis at the sports shop under the gondola where the Edinger Depot Boys provide a unique storage system. Pretty village with a few bars for an après ski drink.

Good pension, but dinner needs to improve

Great location quite close to the Spar on the edge of town. Stayed as part of a Crystal Ski package
Easy for the skibus in the morning. Good breakfast, but dinner on half board was a bit iffy. Could not help but think we were getting leftovers from their mountain hut business There was only every 1 choice (i.e no choice) for dinner.
Soll itself was fantastic and would definitely return

Skiing 2017

Six of us (2 families) stayed here in Feb. booked via Crystal and had a great time. There were 25 staying at Au Pension altogether and at mealtimes it was good to catch up with everyone and chat about what we had done during the day. The food was good and Rene and Philip very friendly. Breakfast was a cold buffet and on a couple of days boiled eggs were offered. The evening meal was 3 or 4 courses - soup, salad (with quite a lot of dressing so ask for it without if you are not keen on this), main course e.g. Tiroler Grostl, roast meal on Sunday, dumpling selection another night and a sweet. I read on a review that you needed to take your own drinks but this is not the case - these can be bought, the only thing I would advise is that if you want any still water with your meal take it from your room as they apparently do not have a tap in the kitchen. The rooms have recently been updated and we found the beds to be very comfortable. Towels are provided - you need your own toiletries, hairdryer etc. We always walked to the lifts (10-15 minutes) as our equipment was in the communal locker room at the base of the lifts but the ski bus stopped very close to the Pension for those who kept their equipment at Au Pension. There were also individual lockers I believe either at the base of the lifts or at the top of the first gondola. Soll is a lovely village - I recommend the coffee shop in the pedestrianised area of the village and the Whiskey Mule for their bar at night and the restaurant on the top floor for meals. The slopes largely became churned up and full of moguls in the afternoon probably due to the height of the resort so be prepared for this and probably as a result I personally found the blue and red runs very similar in level of difficulty. Crystal reps were very helpful and due to the size of the resort you often bumped into them during the day as well as at appointed times.

All good, great value and friendly hosts

Now called the AU PENSION but still booked through Crystal Ski holidays
Room was good with Austrian twin and a single bed, so plenty of room for 2 of us. The host (including the mother who didn't speak English) couldn't have more friendly. The home made snapps came out some evenings too!
The food was good with varied evening meals (and a little history about them being Austrian dishes!) and you could ask for more if you wanted. Breakfast was the same each morning but adequate to start the day.
The location is not close to the slopes but there is a bus (hourly) or leave your skis and equipment at the gondela (or ski shop) and it makes a nice walk to and from the slopes. It's only 5 minutes walk to the start of the town (Soll is not a big town!) but this makes the rooms nice and quiet.
Good free internet, but strongest in the downstairs dining room.
Would definately visit again if I was coming to Soll.
(ps, they promised to get english T-bags but take your own just in case!)

Very nice hotel with very helpful and friendly staff

My girlfriend and I stayed here from the 4th to the 11th of Feb and had a fantastic time. We were in a room with three single beds which wasn't ideal, but this was because we booked late, and it did mean that there was loads of space for us to lay our stuff out. Food was excellent, though it was limited in choice. The staff were extremely helpful, and were very good at accommodating for my girlfriend's lactose intolerance. Overall, we both had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
