wonderful holiday

this hotel is lovely. the staff are so friendly and obliging. I was a single (female) traveller, and they were absolutely fantastic. It is so near centre of modling and only seconds away from the railway station ( Far enough NOT to hear the trains). The train is in vienna in about 20 mins.

Other peoples cost charged to my card, hotel refuses to pay back until other person pays.

They charged cancellation fee for one of my collegues to my personel credit card because they “didn’t get other payment option”. Before the travel in email we agreed my card should be charged for my costs only as I saw my collegue didn’t added card data to his (not mine!) booking. During check out they told me I’m about to pay for the 2 nights I stayed then on the invoice they have after I saw they charged cost of other traveller from same company. After a month of emailing they still refused to reimburse me, only in case my employer pays the other persons cost. I ended up arranging with my company internally. In my 20+ years of corporate travels never met such event and ignorance to resolve. It’s a nice hotel, but beware if you go on a business trip than your card can be charged for the cost of others!

Very Bad Hotel

This is hotel is very unprofessional and bad attitude to the guests. They do not have any understanding and asking for payment cancelation 1 month in advance. I do not recommend to anyone and besides that, the hotel management is very unfriendly and rough to the guests.

Poor place - definitively not a 4 Stars as announced

Stayed there one night, on a business trip in the region. This place is a family run business, you should not expect any flexibility/support from. I had to change my reservation, and you need 1 week notice to do so - so I had to pay an extra day... Rooms are very noisy, breakfast is not good. Really not a place to stay at. I will do my best not to go there any more.

Don't expect receptionist.

I have stayed at City-Hotel Modling from 9-14th October, and they didnot change the sheets at all. I wrote a note and put it on the pillow, still they didnot change for 5 days.
The breakfast was included in the price, but the bread they serve was not fresh the first morning,and they served the same stale bread for the 5 days! They served the same cheese and hams plate for 5 days, they were even drier everyday!
In our rooms the internet was free, but they were giving 5 hr password, and when you reach the end of 5 hrs you are without internet, because there is nobody at reception. Even if you ring the bell or call the hotel phone number from your mobile (because the phones in the rooms are closed) she says reception is closed on saturdays and sundays.
The last day we asked them to book a taxi to the airport, but when we came in the afternoon an old private car was waiting for us to take us to airport. We didn't have time to order a taxi so we asked the price and took it. At the airport he said it was per person, and since we were 2 we had to pay double.
Nothing to recommend, even bed and breakfasts would be better than this City-"Hotel"-Modling.
