Just had a fabulous 5 night stay at Alpine Inn, exploring the area. The room was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed including air con and fridge to keep our drinks cold. We overlooked the pool which was great for relaxing around and taking a dip to cool off. We ate in the bar every night, and every meal we had was delicious, not least the Sunday roast, compliments to all the chefs. From check in to serving meals and drinks, all the staff were welcoming, friendly and happy to accommodate every request we made. Faye, as manager was a super host, nothing was too much trouble, and Katie was always happy smiling and keen to please. The locals were chatty and friendly too. We had breakfast in the cafe, super value and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay again when visiting the area again.

An overpriced dump.

Cold climate town next to the Snowy Mountains. Slick website. Looking for 3 nights so phoned for more info. Went to message bank. Phoned back in business hours as per their recorded message. Still message bank. Left name and number. Still waiting a call back 2 weeks later. Should have heeded that red flag! Small room with fixed double glazed windows. Only way for fresh air to prop the door open. Gravel paths, no doormat to wipe your feet, plenty of cigarette butts at the door. Went with the empty drink bottles in the gardens. Floor dirty and gritty, had not seen a broom in yonks, (check under the bed). Why no doormat? Guests were using them to prop the door open for fresh air! Furniture? One, repeat one, small bedside table mostly occupied by electric kettle. To fit personal effects boiled kettle on the floor plugged into power point on skirter. Classy! No table, no chairs just sit on the bed to do everything. Why no furniture? The hotel has a lounge 50 metres away (no covered walkway). That's where we want the guests to do their sitting! Bathroom window half open, winder broken. Soap dispenser over handbasin, empty! Garbage bin the size of a teapot. Staying 3 nights, no housekeeping, towels damp, don't have to draw pictures of the garbage bin. Trekked to the reception at the other side of hotel via a corridor that accesses the men's toilet. The stench of urine was eyewatering, I kid you not. If you are in Khancoban check it our for yourself. The experience will stay with you long after you have forgotten you wife's birthday. Free to air TV not available due to arial problems, understandable in the terrain. Only available through the individual channel apps. A note next to the TV to that effect would have saved a lot of messing around. Staff came good with fresh towels 3rd day. All this for $200 a night. What a rip off. This place is run for the benefit of the management and staff, guests run a poor second.

Stupidly overpriced for very very ordinary accom, but there’s no competition as it’s the only place in town. Last resort if you’re stuck

Rooms were only completely refurbished 18 months ago, so condition is very good.
Facilities were very basic.
No towel rails was a pain.
Rather small room, but that's ok.
Travel bags on the limited floor space.
No bathroom floor mat. Pain !!
Kettle, tea n coffee n milk only.
No other crockery or cutlery.
Small fidge, ok.
All together, nothing special.
Staff were pleasant and efficient.
Meal at neighbouring pub was ok.
