The airport is currently the largest of all the airports in Oregon and has handled approximately 15.9 million passengers in 2014. Portland International Airport operates nonstop flights to destinations within countries like Canada, Germany, Iceland, Mexico, and Japan, in addition to numerous stops all throughout the United States. The airport also has three runways that measure an estimated 1,800 to 3,400 metres or 6,000 to 11,000 feet in length.

Public transit within Portland is operated and maintained by TriMe. It works the buses, streetcars, and MAX light right that can be found throughout the area. MAX light rail has four lines divided into the Blue Line from Hillsboro east through Beaverton and downtown to Gresham; Red Line, from Portland International Airport to downtown and west towards Beaverton; Yellow Line from Expo Center south, then downtown, and the Portland State University via N Interstate Ave or Hwy 99W; and the Green Line, from Clackamas Town Center north, then west to downtown, and the Portland State University along I-84 and I-205. Additionally, there’s a vintage trolley and the Portland Streetcar lines that go throughout the city. Other ways to explore the city include going by bicycle or walking around.
