Why visit Malaga?

The warm Mediterranean city of Malaga has long been a destination for northern Europeans seeking the sun, but it is so much more than a beach holiday destination. With the might of hundreds of years of Andalucian history behind it, a new reputation as the city of culture, and a culinary scene that could give Barcelona or Madrid a run for their money, Malaga is the place to be.

Things to do in Malaga

Though Seville and Granada are often the cities of choice when visitors choose to go to Andalucía, Malaga is packed full of attractions, and has more museums than either of those cities. Its most famous of which is the Picasso Museum, which hold many of his famous paintings, as well as his sketches and ceramic works.

However, if art isn’t your first love, there is a military museum, a maritime museum, one on the local football club, a glass museum, an automobile museum, a music museum and even a wine museum!

But don’t spend all your time browsing exhibits, as within the city you can see the wonderful Baroque Cathedral, the impressive Gibralfaro Castle, or the Roman Theatre. And once you’re done with the cultural sites, you will have earned some much needed relaxation time on El Palo or La Malagueta, the city’s beautiful golden beaches.
