Why visit Da Nang?
Nestled against the Da Nang Bay, and bisected by the Han River, Da Nang is first and foremost, a pretty city. Once a provincial town, this city has become a flashy stop for visitors looking to take advantage of its excellent night life, its culinary scene, and its gorgeous shoreline. Come to Da Nang and discover this vibrant beach city for yourself.
Things to do in Da Nang
Within the city itself, there are a few great cultural attractions outside of the good-time staples. Drop by the Da Nang Cathedral, a towering building dressed in pink, and built by the French colonialists in the early 20th century. Or visit the Phap Lam Pagoda, the Buddhist temple of worship, and a surprising oasis of calm within the busy central part of the city.
There are also several museums of note, including the Museum of Cham Sculpture, which charts the indigenous Cham people of the area, with illuminating artefacts, and sculptures from as far back as the 7th century. Another highlight would be the Fifth Military Division museum of Da Nang, which has impressive displays on the Vietnam War, and its leader Ho Chi Minh.
Just outside of Da Nang, you will discover the region’s natural beauty, such as the remarkable Son Tra Mountain National Park, whose namesake offers incredible views from the Linh Ung Pagoda which sits atop its summit, as well as lots of hiking opportunities within the park’s grounds.
Beach lovers will not be disappointed, aside from the city’s own beach, there is the Non Nuoc and the My Khe beaches, both boasting soft, white sand, and sapphire waters. After you’re done sunbathing, if you feel up to the challenge, climb the steps of the Marble Mountains, where you can see these beautiful beaches from up high.
