What to see & do
Chevak is a city in the Wade Hampton Census Area in Alaska. It is a simple community with a tri-language system, English, Cup'ik, and a mixture of the two - which makes it a unique place to visit. The locals speak Central Yup'ik or Cup'ik, and identify themselves as Cup'ik. The total land area of the city is 1.2 square miles.

Apart from the wind turbine farm and the city airport, there are no other points of interest in the city. And while it is near the waters, there are no water activities available here, aside from fishing.

For those who are looking for activities and sites to check out, they may head out and fly through the Chevak Airport, and go to nearby Bethel. Bethel is vast and rugged area 400 miles west of anchorage that is accessible only by air and river. It is the main port on the Kuskokwim River, and hub for the 56 villages in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. The area is the ancestral home of the Yup'il, who called their village "Mamterillermiut" or "Smokehouse People." Each year, the city is frequented with visitors and participants to the Kuskokwim 300 dog sled rage to the village of Aniak and back to Bethel. Apart from the race, travellers also visit the place for the Camai or the Yup'ik Dance Festival, the Yuplit PIciryarait Cultural Centre, the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge, and the Seawall, which is one of the best places to view an Alaskan sunset during the months when it does dip below the horizon.

How to get around
