Travel Information
· It is generally not advised to drive yourself when renting a car in India, but you’ll find that most car companies will hire out their vehicles with a driver. If you do drive, you have to take Grant Road to Dr Ambedkar Veedhi, and then join the Mumbai/Bangalore Highway. This road is the one that will bring you into the city. You can hire cars within the airport from a number of different agencies, or book a rental car online using our price comparison search tool.
· There are public buses that offer services into the city for 100-200 ($2-4), but if you don’t fancy navigating the timetables or feel a little nervous catching the local buses, then consider booking an online airport transfer with the Skyscanner search engine.
· Taxis are the easiest way to get into the centre of the city, but the duration and price sticking to a reasonable figure depends entirely on the traffic. You can pay anywhere from 600-900INR ($12-17.50), and the journey can take an hour or two if you travel during peak times.
