Discover Warsaw Chopin

The Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is the main international facility for Poland’s capital, Warsaw, and the busiest airport in the country. There is another airport in the city, called the Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI) but this is primarily a low-cost carrier hub, and it is unlikely you will fly into this port if you are travelling from Australia. The Warsaw Chopin Airport has had a foothold in the city since the 1920s, but only became a commercial hub after World War 2. This facility is also the operating base for LOT Polish Airlines, the flag carrying airline for the country, and a Star Alliance member.

Within the terminal buildings you’ll find a number of amenities that will make transit through this airport easier. There are a few information desks you can access, plus cash machines, foreign exchange counters, a full-service bank, and free WiFi for up to half an hour.  You can eat in a number of eateries, from restaurants to snack kiosks, and choose from the local Polish cuisine, or try something international.

There is a duty-free section that is available to international travellers, and a selection of gift shops, designer stores, and travel goods outlets. Other facilities you can utilise are a medical aid centre, travel agencies, and executive lounges.

Fly to Warsaw with LOT Polish Airlines, Finnair, SAS, Swiss Air, airberlin, KLM, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas, Etihad Airways, Aegean Airlines, Alitalia, China Southern and Air France.
