General aviation facilities only have less than 2,500 enplanements each year.

What to see & do

Pilot Point is located on a high, ancient glacial moraine, which abuts the eastern shore of Ugashik Bay six nautical miles upstream from Smoky Point and 18 nautical miles downstream from the village of Ugashik. It is relative small – with only 140.5 square miles as its total area, and with 81.93% water.

Pilot Point's home state, which is Alaska, is a state situated in the northwest extremity of the North American continent, bordering the state of Yukon and the province of British Columbia in Canada, the Arctic Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean. It is the biggest state by land area, but the fourth least populous and the least densely populated state of the U.S. Its main tourism venues are centred in Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks, Skagway, and Ketchikan.

Set amid the coastal mountains of Chugach, Anchorage is not the ordinary definition of Alaska – which is ice and more ice. It is a warmer slice of the state, which is ideal both for living and having fun. When visiting this wonderful place, grab the opportunity and tour the fjords of Prince William Sound, immerse in the unique Alaskan culture, or visit the Anchorage Museum at the Rasmuson Centre.

Fancy a glimpse of the Aurora phenomenon? Fairbanks is the perfect spot for you, then. Aside from being the best place to view the northern lights, Fairbanks is also known as the home rule city and the borough seat of the Fairbanks North Star Borough in Alaska, and is the largest city in the interior region. It is a sprawling and busy capital filled with upbeat malls and cafes, fast-food places, malls, hotels, and scenic lakes.

Up for some adventure? Then Juneau is your best bet. The city and borough of Juneau is the capital city of Alaska – and yet it defies its prim title with various outdoor activities that can be enjoyed and conquered. Go fish for the biggest salmons on its bay, see the huge glaciers, have a go on zip-lining, or even watch the whales as they weave in the waters.
