Miami International Airport (MIA) is the key aviation facility for the cosmopolitan city of Miami on Florida’s sunny coast. This is a comprehensive transit facility, seeing well over 30 million passengers a year. You’ll find that if you pass through this airport you will find all the amenities you’ll need while heading to your next destination.

 

There are several information centres you can get advice from if you are new to the city, and there are other excellent facilities you can take advantage of, like a medical centre, several pharmacies, a hair salon, a chapel, and a gallery. You can also stay in touch with friends and family by connecting to the WiFi available throughout the terminals.

 

Dining in Miami International is also a treat, with tons of eateries to choose from. Dine in sit-down restaurants, throw back a few cocktails in the bars, enjoy a meal with the family in a café, or pick up snacks or coffee from the kiosks. You can also amuse yourself with the many retail options available to you, from fashion labels, to electronics, cosmetics, duty-free stores, newsagents, and souvenir shops. Travel Information

 

·         The 19km from the airport to Miami Beach should take you about 30 minutes in light traffic. Hop on the FL-836 E, and then take the MacArthur Causeway to 5th Street in Miami Beach. You’ll find that Miami’s airport has a plethora of car rental options at the Rental Car Centre, just off-site. However, if you’d rather book your vehicle in advance, use our comparison tool, to browse and book your car.

 

·         You can take the Metro directly from the airport, and the service is an efficient one. Taking about 15 minutes for a cheap and cheerful 2.25USD ($3).

 

·         Buses and shuttles run services into downtown Miami. The Airport Flyer is the fastest bus route, and can take you right to Miami Beach in about 30 minutes and for $2.65 ($3.50). Shuttles will take you door to door, but usually they wait to be filled up before departing. Expect the fare to come to around 15USD ($20).

 

·         You can hop in a taxi as soon as you depart the terminals from baggage claim. The fare for a journey to the centre of the city should come to around 25USD ($33). You can also book an airport transfer if you’d rather have your transport arranged before you land.
