Discover Dryden

Dryden Regional Airport is a public airport serving the city of Dryden in Ontario, Canada. It is operated by the City of Dryden and is located eight kilometres northeast of the city. It resides at an elevation of 1,354 feet / 413 metres above mean sea level. It has a runway designated 06/24 with sand surface at the length of 2,000 feet (610 metres) and another designated 12/30, with asphalt surface at the length of 6,000 feet (1,829 metres). 
Dryden is located on Wabigoon Lake. It is the second largest city in the Kenora District of Northwestern Ontario and the smallest community in the province designated as a city. It serves as a transportation, business, and service hub for the surrounding area. As a tourist destination, Dryden is best known for its rich and diverse culture and opportunities for outdoor adventures.
 
What to see & do
Dryden & District Museum - The Dryden & District Museum is the community museum and cultural centre of the city. It spans 5,000 years of history through its exhibits of native artefacts, minerals, textiles, photographs, archival material, and other related objects. Guided tours around the museum are offered.
 
Naked North Gallery & Gift - The gallery features unique art created by an eclectic group of local artists. Artworks range from jewellery, portraits, pencil drawings, mixed media art, acrylic paintings, hand weaving, pottery, and others.
 
Hiking and Cycling in Dryden - There are several hiking and biking trails in Dryden. For example, the two-kilometre trail to the Laura Howe Marsh, where many animals come for food, water, or shelter. Aaron Provincial Park has two trails; Aspen Trail is 1.9 kilometres through a boreal forest, where you may come face to face with a white-tail deer and 26 species of warblers; the Eastern White Cedar Trail is much shorter, only half a kilometre, and entails walking along the shores and wetlands of Thunder Lake and climbing up a slope to a clay plain. For more advanced riders, Ghost Lake Biking and Hiking Trails are interconnected 22 kilometres of trails through diverse terrain.  
Sandy Beach Recreational Area - Take a trip to Sandy Beach Recreational Area for a laid-back time with family, friends, or even alone. There are playgrounds for kids (or kids at heart), barbeque pits, picnic tables, and washrooms. The area is also connected to the beach.
 
How to get around within Dryden
