Pedro Bay Airport is a state-owned public-use airport located one nautical mile west of the central business district of Pedro Bay, in the Lake and Peninsula Borough of the U.S. state of Alaska. As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport has received at least 678 passenger boardings, which is a drop of 47% from the 1,271 enplanements in the previous year. This placed the airport as a general aviation facility, under the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009-2013 of the FAA.

The Pedro Bay Airport covers an area of 229 acres at an elevation of 45 feet above mean sea level. It has one gravel runway designated 9/27, which measures about 3,000 feet long. The airport is owned by the State of Alaska, serving Pedro Bay.

Pedro Bay Airport is located in Pedro Bay, one of the communities and census-designated places in Lake and Peninsula Borough, in the U.S. State of Alaska. Pedro Bay is located on the northeast end of Iliamna Lake, 30 miles northeast of Iliamna and 180 miles southwest of Anchorage. The community has a total area of 19 square miles. The Dena'ina Athabascan people originally occupied the area around Pedro Bay.

What is interesting about the place is that it has been a Russian trading site in the early 19th century. The original inhabitants have warred with Russian fur traders over trade practises, which then resulted into conflict and later resolution. An important piece of Russian history left in Pedro Bay is the St. Nicholas Chapel, which was listed under the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The St. Nicholas Chapel is a historic Russian Orthodox church that was built in 1890; a 15-by-15-foot building with an extension at its altar end. It is built with log walls, and has since been registered in the said list since 1980. Until today, the establishment, albeit old, can be visited. Outside of Pedro Bay, there are more sites within Lake and Peninsula Borough that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These include Aniakchak Bay Historic Landscape District in Chignik, Brooks Camp Boat House in King Salmon, Old Savonoski Site in Naknek, St. Nicholas Church in Pilot Point, and Wassillie Trefon Dena’ina Fish Cache in Port Alsworth, among others.

Pedro Bay is also the home to the Pedro Bay Corporation, which serves as the village corporation of Pedro Bay alongside more than 200 other Alaska Native village corporations and 12 Alaska Native Regional Corporations.
