Cheap Flights to Lutselke / Snowdrift Airport

Lutselk'e Airport is located in Lutselk'e, Northwest Territories, Canada, at 62.418333 latitude and -110.682222 longitude. At 1.1 nautical miles, two kilometres or 1.3 miles to the northeast of the Lutselke community, the airport only has flights to Yellowknife, operated by Air Tindi. The airport is known to have caribou roaming around its runway thus making it challenging to use fly in and out in the evening. The airport serves with a gravel-surfaced runway that spans around 915 metres or 3,000 feet in length.

 

Lutselk'e or Lutselke, also spelt as Łutselk'e or Łutsel K'e is a designated authority within the North Slave Region, in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The community is represented by the Lutsel K'e Dene First Nation and is part of the Akaitcho Territory Government. There are numerous destinations within the Northwest Territories, such as Aklavik, Deline, Fort Liard, Gameti, Inuvik, Tulita, Whati, Paulatuk, and Wrigley, to name a few. As a small community within the territories however, Lutselke does not have much tourist attraction although the area is still has numerous appealing destinations to offer. The Northwest Territories offers Nahanni National Park Reserve, Great Slave Lake, Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, The Wildcat Cafe, Giant Mine, Fort Chambly, The Gold Range, Mac the Moose, in addition to Abbey of Notre-Dame du Lac. Mac the Moose can be found within Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Claimed as the world’s largest moose, it is made of fibreglass and stands at 32 feet or around 9.8 metres tall, with an estimated weight of 10 tonnes. Among Moose Jaw’s most important stops, the giant moose was completed in 1984, and has been recently moved to a location close to the Trans-Canada highway, close to Moose Jaw’s visitors’ centre. Another stop to be explored is The Wildcat Cafe, a vintage log cabin within Yellowknife. It first opened in 1937 and is considered the oldest restaurant within the city.

Lutselk’e or Lutselke is also served by Lutselk'e Water Aerodrome, which is located at 62.4 latitude and -110.75 longitude, on Great Slave Lake, and is open at around mid-June to September.
