Anticosti Island – Anticosti is the main island where Port-Menier is located. It is situated in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and it is famous for the unexplored “tight oil” or “shale oil” trapped in the rock. Within the island, travellers should not miss the Eco-museum which is the history and ecology exhibit of Anticosti Island, containing various artefacts from the time of Henri Menier. Travellers should also check the Vaureal Falls and the Carleton Lighthouse.

Parc d’Anticosti – Probably the only major tourism destination in the island, the Anticosti Provincial Park contains local wildlife, including beavers, otters, seals, and black bears. Various activities, including camping, hiking, sea kayaking, and canyoning can also be done here.

Tower Bay – Tower Bay, also known as the Baie de la Tour, is a picturesque bay located at the St. Lawrence Gulf of Anticosti. It is surrounded by two rock cliffs and a pebble beach, which is almost always deserted. Apart from swimming in its turquoise waters, travellers may chance and observe seals, whales, and many types of seabirds here.
Shipwreck exploration – There are also a few shipwreck sites which travellers can discover. The most accessible will be the Calou in Pointe-de-l’Ouest and the Wilcox bear the Pointe-Carleton.

Fishing and hunting – Fishing and hunting are the most popular activities in the area. Before proceeding with any of these activities though, make sure to secure provincial licences. Favourite areas to fish and hunt are the Sepaq Anticosti – where salmon and deer are plenty.
