The Shaheed Benazirabad Airport is located in Shaheed Benazirabad, a city found in Sindh region, Pakistan. The city was previously named Nawabshah, with its namesake airport, Nawabashah Airport, before both were changed to its current names. Commercial services were previously cut in February 2007 when Airblue suspended flights in the area, but scheduled flights resumed in August 2008 with the return of Palestinian International Airlines (PIA) in Shaheed Benazirabad. The airport serves as a hub for Pakistan International Airlines and Airblue, with destinations covering key cities in Pakistan such as Hyderabad, Islamabad, and Lahore. The airport is a public hub currently operated by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.

Established in 1913 by the British government, the city of Shaheed Benazirabad or Nawabshah has come a long way in improving and adapting to changes that the world faces. Home to the Shaheed Benazirabad Airport which serves the vicinity and sometimes, the Sindh Region, the city is found at the heart of the region, which makes it a major transportation hub, especially for bus and railway systems. The city also lies near the country's commercial capital and largest city, Karachi, and is directly affected by its prowess and stability. Moreover, the city has also developed a few tourist attractions that are deemed important not only to the country's culture, but also to its economy.

Mausoleum of Thul Mir Rukun – The mausoleum is a thousand year-old historical and archaeological tomb under the care of the Archaeology department of the Government of Sindh, situated some 15km away from the Daulatpur Taluka town centre. The tomb is a 60­feet edifice and is the final resting place of Thul Mir Rukun, and is made with bricks that are made and prepared during the Buddhist Ruler’s period. The line painting of the birth of Gotama Buddha is clearly preserved on its bricks and can be viewed by tourists.

H.M KHOJA Annual Flower Show – This is a major event happening in the city of Nawabshah, and was established by Haji S/o Mehar Ali Khoja. Visitors can view various floras during this three- to four­day celebration usually held at Khoja Gardens.

How to get around within Nawabshah

Nawabshah is a primary railway and road junction which makes it accessible and traveller­friendly. Main Railway (Lahore to Karachi), Metro Gauge Line (Nawabshah to Jam Saheb and Mirpurkhas), and previously, Feeder Lines, all serve the city and its population. The city is also rich in highways, with roads covering the entire city centre and stretching towards other neighbouring vicinities up to the desert area. Auto­rickshaws and buses are also available, and travellers also have the option of walking around especially in the city centre to further take in the atmosphere – although be careful of the heat which peaks late in the morning until early in the afternoon. Always carry a personal water container in case of dizziness due to the heat, or even dehydration.
