Despite this airport serving the fairly small island of Majorca, the Palma de Majorca Airport (PMI) is one of most active aviation facilites in all of Spain. Over twenty million people travel to this popular destination every year, and you’ll find that the airport is well able to deal with all of your needs in transit. It is an operations base for Air Europa, and an important hub for several low cost airlines, including easyJet and Ryanair. Established as a commercial airport in the 1950s, Palma de Majorca’s airport has undergone modernisation over the years, and has a very good selection of amenities for your use.
There are cash machines, foreign exchange booths, a full-service bank, and free WiFi access. You’ll find that there are a number of bars, restaurants and cafes serving international and local cuisine, including the Spanish favourite: tapas. There is a good duty-free area, as well as several popular retailers selling gifts, apparel and travel goods. Added features include a medical centre, VIP lounges, and disabled access facilities.
If you need to hire a car, you will find that there is a wide selection of rental agencies represented within the Arrivals Hall of the airport. Among your options are big branded companies that include Enterprise, Hertz, Sixt and Avis.
Iberia, easyJet, British Airways, airberlin, Lufthansa, Emirates and Qantas offer routes out to Palma de Majorca.

· There are several car hire companies that operate out of this airport, including popular brands like Enterprise and Avis. However, as Majorca is a small island, it is recommended that you book online and in advance to be assured of a vehicle during your stay. You only need to hop onto the MA-19 from the airport and you’ll be directed straight into Palma. The drive should only take you 15 minutes.
· Buses run between Palma and the airport for a cheap and cheerful fare of 3EUR ($4.30), and the journey time is around about half an hour. If you are with your family, or simply have a lot of luggage, booking airport transfers before you set off can make things a lot easier, especially as they will generally meet you at the airport.
· You can pick up a taxi outside the airport and an approximate fare should be around 15-20EUR ($21-28).
