The Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH), also referred to as the Caticlan Airport, and the Boracay Airport, is an aviation facility serving the gorgeous island of Boracay. This is a tiny airport, but you can find an ATM, bathrooms, free Wifi (in the visitor’s lounge), a food kiosk, and charging stations.

From this airport, you will need to go to the Caticlan Jetty Port, which you can be ferried to for 50PHP ($1.40), and then take a boat to the island for a total cost of about 200PHP ($6).

Generally to fly to Boracay from Australia, you will have to fly with Philippine Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cebu Pacific, or Qantas.  

Why visit Boracay?

Boracay is an island that could have been born from pure fantasy. Its shores are made up from sands soft and white as talcum powder, the warm waters that lap its coastline are turquoise and fade into a deep, mesmerising blue, and all of it is fringed by swaying palm trees, bamboo huts, and bemused people that cannot believe their luck. Consistently voted as one of the most beautiful island destinations in the world, Boracay will make all your beach holiday dreams come true.

Things to do in Boracay

Staying in Boracay means taking advantage of paradise, so most of the attractions are out-of-doors. Find your way to the Crystal Cove where you can snorkel underground, or snorkel around the island itself in the light where you can see tropical fish dart between bright corals.

Put on your hiking boots and explore the Bat Caves where you can see gentle fruit bats nesting. Or head for the highest point in Boracay—Mount Luho—where you can relax on the viewing deck up top and take in the spectacular view.

Then spend some time lounging on the perfect shores of White Beach, where the sands are powdery soft, and the water is warm and crystal clear, and shops, bars, restaurants and cafes back the bay. You can stay here every day of your trip and be perfectly contented in this seaside nirvana.

However, make sure you engage in a little island hopping, where you can enjoy the tiny islands and beaches that surround Boracay. In particular, visit the incredible Crocodile Beach, and Puka Beach.

Best time to visit Boracay.

·         November to May is the dry season on Boracay, and the best time to be on this beautiful island. Expect the mercury to rise between 25 and 32°C.

·         You can visit in May, June, and July, but this is the hottest time of year, with highs of 38°C, so only those who adore the heat should come at this time.

·         The typhoons hit this side of the Philippines in from about mid-July though to October, and are not an ideal time to staying on Boracay.
