The heritage buildings in this city are astounding, start with the Mughal constructed Lalbagh Fort, built in the late 17th century, this beautiful fortress combines a mosque, a tomb, and the fortification walls. Then see Ahsan Manzil, the official residence of the Nawab of Dhaka, the palace was constructed in 1872 and is also an excellent museum that you can tour six days a week.
Drop by the lovely Star Mosque in Armanitola, Saint Mary’s Cathedral, and the beautiful 11th century Dhakeshwari Temple, a Hindu house of worship, and the oldest in the city. Each building calls to a different side and influence on Bangladeshi culture, and is worth a visit.
