Things to do in Montreal

One of the best ways to get situated in this city is to head to its highest point Mount Royal, where you can look out at the city, and see the spires and spikes of the churches that populate this Catholic-founded city.

Montreal has some wonderful museums too, make your way to Museum of Fine Arts which frequently holds award winning exhibitions. Or head to the Chateau Ramezay Historic Site and Museum of Montreal for a look back at the past.

Perhaps even book a Cirque du Soleil show, a troupe of extraordinary acrobats that started their world-class show in Montreal, and have become the largest theatrical producers on earth.

Montreal is a rollicking city at night if you know where to go, and that is down by the old dock, where there are tons of bars and clubs you can while away the wee hours in. Grab a bite to eat in one of the many excellent restaurants in the Downtown Area, or in the Plateau.

If you want to get away from the general hustle and bustle, then make for the West Island, where you can look out across the Lawrence River, and chow down on lobster rolls and throw back a cocktail.

Best time to visit Montreal

·         Montreal has very distinct seasons, with hot and sunny summers (June to August) freezing, snowy winters, and rainy springs, and crisp autumns. So depending on what you’re hoping to do in this city will determine when you visit. The summers are fantastic for events in the city, whilst the winters are ideal for skiing. Autumn however is the most beautiful month, with the leaves turning red, and averages highs of 20°C.
