Alma Airport is a public airport located at 48.508611 latitude and -71.641389 longitude, around 4.1 kilometres or 2.5 miles to the south of the town proper. It has an asphalt-surfaced runway that spans approximately 1,500 metres or 5,000 feet. It does not operate commercial flights that go into and out of the Alma, Quebec area. Alma Airport’s services include handling private flights, as well providing storage for private jets. The airport also offers Jet A type refuelling services.

The town of Alma can be found within the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region within Quebec, along with other communities such as Chambord, Desbiens, Dolbeau-Mistassini, Hébertville-Station, Métabetchouan–Lac-à-la-Croix, Normandin, Roberval, Saguenay, Saint-Ambroise, and Saint-Bruno, to name a few. The expedition and adventure take travellers through the Métabetchouan, Ashuapmushuan and Mistassibi rivers. Les voiles Carl Veilleux on the other hand has kite skiing for both beginners and experts, and those in between. The lessons go for two hours on the ice and on the municipal campground.  

 

Being a part of the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region, getting around can be done by car, since some cities within the region have bus systems, although most do not have bus services available. Driving within the region is recommended since the whole of Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean can be considered as a sizable territory. Walking can be an option too, but when travelling great distances and buses are not available, it is best to be ready to drive for long distances.
