Inaugurated in 1996, Takume Airport serves the Takume atoll, located in the Tuamotus chain in French Polynesia. On the map, Takume Airport can be found using the coordinates -15.8555556 latitude and -142.2677778 longitude.
 
Takume atoll, also known as Pukamaru, is an atoll in the Tuampotus chain in French Polynesia, 790 kilometres northeast of Tahiti and six kilometres northeast of Raroia, and 128 kilometres to the west of Fangatau. Takume covers an area of 24 kilometres by five kilometres, and has a lagoon measuring 43.5 square kilometres. The atoll consists of several motus on its reef, with the majority located on the eastern fringes. The lagoon can be accessed through a navigable pass. Takume’s main village is Ohomo.
