The hamlet is also known for its local tourism offerings, mainly centred in the Aulavik National Park. The Aulavik National Park is a park located on the north end of Banks Island, co-operatively managed by Parks Canada and the Residents of Sachs Harbour and Inuvialuit. The park is of historical significance, for one of a number of ships sent out to the artic became trapped in the ice in the bay for some three years and had to be abandoned by its crew. It also provides a view of a waterway were the fabled North West Passage – a waterway across the top of North America that allows ships from Europe to reach Asia safely – can be found.

Outside Sachs Harbour, travellers may also explore the rest of the Northwest Territories and visit various points of interest. Some of these include the Nahanni National Park Reserve where the Virginia Falls and the Tufa Mounds can be found; the Great Slave Lake which is considered the second-biggest lake in the Northwest Territories; the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, the Wildcat Cafe, the Yellowknife River, the Ingraham Trail, and many others.
