Zhob Airport is a known small domestic airport located at Zhob, Balochistan, Pakistan. The airport was created to be small due to the population of Zhob and its surrounding townships.

Zhob is a small town and the district capital of Zhob District in Balochistan province of the country of Pakistan. Zhob is specifically located on the banks of Zhob River. The town has many names in its history. Before, it was originally called Appozai after a nearby village; and during the colonial era it was named Fort Sandeman. It finally got its final name on July 30, 1976 when the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had the name changed.

Zhob Valley - Tourists will be interested in visiting one of the most fascinating places in Balochistan. The valley has bearable summers and cold winters with snowfall. It is said that the best time to visit Zhob is around April when spring season rules the valley. The Zhob Valley is located specifically in the Zhob District, which is obscured by the imposing hills. Zhob Valley was known before as Apazai.

Zhob River - The river itself is around 410km in length and starts from a waterfall of Pahseen Valley known as ‘Tasrhi Mehter Zai’. Tourists will witness migrant birds from Siberia and Russia around here as it is known to be the place where these birds go to. The huge migrations of these birds usually take place until March.

How to get around within Zhob

Other than by car, travellers who are planning to go around Zhob can also use trains operated by the Pakistan Railways network. In the year 2006, the Pakistan Railways converted the narrow gauge railway track into a broad gauge. It is said that a more direct route to the capital via Dera Ismail Khan and Darya Khan is being proposed. In this new project, it will link Quetta with Peshawar via Bostan, Zhob, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, and Kohat.
