How to get around within Frankfurt

Considered to be the best way to get around Frankfurt is a combination of the U-Bahn (underground and overground), tram, and bus service. To go to the airport or the suburbs, take the S-Bahn instead. The S-Bahn is prone to delays, so make sure to always have buffer time so as not to be late for anything; the subway, tram, and bus are generally more punctual. Taxis are plentiful in Frankfurt but are quite expensive. Watch out for when drivers take too many detours if they notice that the passenger does not know the city well. Otherwise, taxi is the best way for door-to-door transportation. Car rentals are available but discouraged due to lack of parking space. It would be more efficient to rent a bike instead, as Frankfurt is very bike-friendly. Bike rentals can be found all over the city and are available from April to December.
