The owner was real nice and helpful. Nice and quiet place to stay. ..after hurricane not as many places open. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel did not staff their lobby. All communication was through text despite my repeated attempts to speak with someone. The room had a very strong cigar odor that we had to air out for the entire stay by keeping the doors open. The keys to the hotel are kept in a communal lock box—not sure of the safety of this. The inside of the room was very run down with a mini couch and full size chair. And table with 4 chairs in the living/dinning space. The king bed was behind its own closed door. The bathroom was the size of a powder room at best and very run down. Despite my repeated attempts to speak with someone about the smell of cigars and a key that didn’t work, the hotel staff there was no resolution to the smell. I was basically told it was a non smoking room….which I knew but that didn’t solve the smell. He did offer air fresheners… definitely didn’t want air freshener smelling cigars. The two doors to the balcony both did NOT lock. This was rated 3 star and I wouldn’t even give it 1. We stayed in St Augustine the height before we checked in and the hotel was super clean! The smell of cleanliness was apparent from the moment we walked in. The room in St Augustine was very small, however, they made very good use of the space. In short, I would not recommend the Sea Shell in Daytona.

The property is well located, check in was easy. The units are comfortable and we only spent one night at the property. I could consider one more star but I am careful with cleanliness and I think they should focus more on it, especially in the toilets that had yellow marks and the outside trash cans were overflowing with trash. These are details that could be taken care of more.

The room was terribly outdated, mattress was beyond needing replacement. The key card reader on the door was missing the cover, black mold on the ceiling.The price for the room does not reflect the quality of what you receive. Way, way over priced. There are no pictures on their website that matches the room I was given. I do not recommend.

The rooms that face the ocean towards the back and they run like 403 and up are in excellent shape. The ones that we were in a terrible shape we did not even see the water because we were a corner unit and we’re supposed to be able to view the water be aware.
