Tynedale

We stayed last night en route to a rugby festival at Tynedale. The friendly lady on arrival showed us to our upstairs rooms. The rooms were a decent size with an en suite shower and toilet. The bed was very comfortable ensuring a good sleep. We went down to the bar prior to bedtime. The bar was well stocked with a great selection of beers and lagers. Next morning we had a lovely full English cooked breakfast, preceded by cereals and toast. All in all we were well looked after and would definitely stay there again. Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst hotel experience of my life.
As soon as I entered the hotel, I was gobsmacked by the horrible smell of the lobby. The carpet looked like it has never been cleaned. An elderly woman was struggling walking down the stairs as they had no lift. Nothing wrong with not having an elevator, but this should be noted prominently on the website in case anyone with physical limitations will know this before booking.
I had room number 8. I go into the room and was perplexed that there was no bathroom/toilet/shower. I asked the staff person, (friendly and helpful)… where is the bathroom? She explained for that room, it is across the hall. Talk about a major inconvenience!
I went down to the bar/restaurant to ask about any vegan options. This area had the same horrible smell and filthy environment. I knew right then I would do a take-away and eat in my room. There wasn’t anything on the menu I could have which was bizarre because their online menu had several options for vegans. (This was one of the reasons why I booked this place.)
Anyhow, I asked the staff person if the chef could prepare something suitable for me. The answer… go to the local Co-Op, buy something vegan and the chef would prepare a vegan meal!
I will never stay here again and wouldn’t book a room if they paid me to stay there.

Not long for this world ...beware

A truly awful place. Cheap , tacky, massively overpriced. Nice, but clueless owners. Coffee the worst I ve ever tasted. Breakfast ,the cheapest produce humanly possibly. Cold room. Dire. Damp smell in foyer, reception. Room ...bed mattress ...new but cheap, no support. Shower door missing so now a ' walk in'. Not one TV channel worked properly, not one. No proper heating, just an electric oil filled radiator. Cold, useless. Bar area nothing like their glitzy website images - chalk and cheese-now just run down, characterless, cheap n tacky.
Car park was a pothole ridden mess. Should have known what to expect from the exterior.
Just avoid.
