Dirty Dump!

I don't know who wrote the five star review but they certainly did not stay in our booked apartment! My friend and I booked an apartment that listed two beds unit B2. Upon arrival there was no one was onsite to check us in. We called the hotel number and we were told the keys were in the apartment and it was a self check in. We quickly discovered there was only one double bed. The apartment was very dirty, with black mould growing on the walls. The toilet did not flush and was leaking a lot of water onto the bathroom floor. So my friend called the hotel number to report the non-working toilet. A young man arrived about 15 minutes later. He was able to get the toilet to flush but it was still leaking badly. We asked about the second advertised bed and were told it was sofa bed. We asked why there was no linen for the sofa bed and his response is that we needed to state we needed linen at the time of booking. The young man could see that my friend and I were not happy with the accommodation and he said he would provide us with a refund if we wanted to leave. Unfortunately, it was a Saturday night and we arrived on the last car ferry, and it was close to 6 pm. We knew there was very little chance of finding another room on the island. So we stayed the night and checked out the next morning at 8:15 am. We paid for our first night and were refunded the second night.

Carlos was very helpful with answering questions and just a kind man. Their is clearly a constant upkeep of the property. Location was good- though there might be an office closer to the boat docks because when we first arrived my map app kept directing me to the wrong place.
We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you:)

It was false advertising and the place was not anywhere near the ocean. When I went to check in, it had no desk or employees. As I walked around the building I could see why they only showed the upper part. The lower part was indescribable.. The back had open trash on the ground, the side was an alley and the building next to it looked very bad with animals, chickens and dogs, some of which were copulating on the streets around it. The neighborhood was rough, the street had very bad holes in it, and the ocean was not in sight, but two blocks away and smelled like sewer. THere was a 6 foot high fence around the building and was not kept up with loose and broken boards on the fence. When I went to register after my flight arrived from Panama City, no one was there and the building was locked up so no entry. There was a sign on the side door behind the fence saying "be right back" but we waited for an hour and finally went to the next island to stay which was a real hotel with a small lobby. Have I given you a picture? The owner debited 100 dollars from my account which was not supposed to happen and I am now refuting the charges. Expedia dropped the ball on this one.

We stayed for 4 nights a great 2 bedroom apartment. We had the basic of everything we needed. My friends had several things like hot water and ac adjustment that were not perfect but the manager shayra was great at helping us work everything out. The stoves and counters were brand new and the AC was actually too cold. Shayra even worked out a ride back to David for us and negotiated a better price than they initially quoted her It is the perfect place for a family to stay especially if studying at Habla Ya next door. Everything worked out great for us. Thank you
