They really need a facelift in a number of areas-bathrooms, lighting in common areas to relax; couches outside the superb breakfast room are torn
It’s a beautiful hotel with terrific service that needs a bit more attention. Take a page from the Hotel Quirinale playbook in Roma.

Great for a long weekend in Palermo

Central location, in the historic center, a few meters from Piazza 4 Canti. On foot from the hotel you can reach all the major attractions of the city (Cathedral, Norman Palace, Palatine Chapel, Churches, Monastery of Santa Caterina, Ballarò and Capo markets). As soon as you enter, you are catapulted into another dimension. The room (a junior suite) spacious, comfortable. Very spacious bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very continental breakfast with little space to the "local" part in my opinion. Friendly and professional staff. Possibility to request transfers to the airport with private driver at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

Excellent location and good hotel

We spent two nights at this hotel during a recent visit to Palermo. The location is great - in the historic center and near lots of shops, restaurants and sites. The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. We did not do the breakfast option or try the restaurant, but both are available. The hotel wifi was very good. We liked the property and recommend it.

Hotel right in the center of old town shows off glamor

We were booked at the Eurostar Centrale Palace for two nights. The location is impossible to top - it sits almost at the proclaimed center of the old town, at the intersection of the two main pedestrianized streets of Maqueda and Vittorio Emanuele. As soon as you step out, there are throngs of tourists, both local and foreign, walking every which way.
The four stores hotel was probably a real villa-palace in its previous life, with everything in marble, with large ceilings, expensive looking chandeliers and furniture in the lobby, corridors, and the various unused social halls. To get to the breakfast room on the 2nd floor, you had to go through several such halls, each one pretty impressive.
The guest room itself is decently-sized, with the same expensive-looking wood themed furniture - work desk, nighttabrles, TV-ref cabinet, and headboard. Over the bed is a drop ceiling with accent lighting. There are four great fluffy pillows. The walls are in white, there are three nice looking lamps, and the TV has one English channel, BBC, unlike the previous Sicilian hotels we stayed in which had none. In the bathroom, there's a bidet, bathrobes, and the toiletries from The Lab Room, are in on-the-wall dispensers. There's just enough electric outlets. The hotel staff respond quickly - we called thrice - for the washroom drain, for the ac, and for the TV, and in all three instances, the maintenance guy showed up within a couple of minutes.
Breakfast was very good - in three impressive contiguous halls. They had great variety of breads, spreads, cereals, cold cuts, pastries, fruits (they had strawberries on day 1 but were out of it on day 2), and the usual hot food.
Now the negatives. The TV is small, a 32 inches. There's a wall to ceiling mirror in the bedroom which is always great - but the glass panes are already very stained or rusted. The ac is centralized so you either had to go with it, which in our case was quite cold, or you turned it off completely. The wash basin's drain cover got stuck and the repair guy couldn't fix it - so we took out our knife and pried it open. There's only a shower head, no rain forest type, and water pressure was a bit low. There was no way to indicate 'do not disturb' and when we came back from breakfast, the room had already been cleaned. And wi-fi was very slow.

Great Location, Great Service, Great Ambience

I actually stayed in two different rooms in this hotel: one single room on an upper floor when I was here solo, and one double on a lower floor once the rest of my travel group arrived. The single room was very spacious, and it was wonderful to lean out the window in the morning to see the rooftops lining the canyon of Via Vittorio Emanuele. The double room was a bit less exciting with a view of the lot behind the hotel, but by European standards, it was roomy.
Yes, as some of the other reviewers have noted, some of the rooms in this hotel are outdated, without lots of outlets or air conditioning. The building is old, and it shows its age. But the place has an amazing location just steps away from Quattro Canti! The building has a ton of character and interesting spots to linger and explore. And the staff are so friendly and helpful, too! I think this is the perfect hotel for someone looking to really dive into Palermo's historic district.
Also, for me, the care of the staff is what pushed this hotel up from a four to a five. From the moment I checked in, all of my interactions with them were so positive and refreshing. I actually left a jacket behind when I checked out, and the staff collected it and helped me get it shipped to my next hotel, saving me a ton of trouble since I had left my keys to my home back in the USA in the jacket pocket!
In short: great location, great service, great ambience! I'd definitely stay here again.
