Great Experience

Ended up at this hotel courtesy of Air Canada and a missed connection. Glad I was booked here as I will know to book in future for any layovers.
Free shuttle was quick upon calling and efficient. Check in was warm and personable. (Young guy, dark hair and glasses , small stature). He is very good at his job and made me feel welcome.
Room was spotless and very well appointed. New and modern.
I didn’t eat at the restaurant but there’s a small coffee shop. Egg and cheese sandwich and blueberry muffin were great and about $10.
Only suggestion is to advise guests of the ‘Sandman Market’ which is a small self- serve shop with snacks and toiletries. I didn’t see it until checkout as it is tucked away.
10-15 minute walk to some other restaurants (Jack Astor and Boston Piizza). Not practical in winter or rainy day.
Highly recommend this hotel. Canadian owned!!

Cleanliness issues

Arrived late, The lobby and check in were good, room layout was good but the bathroom was filthy and in need of repair. I brought it to their attention on check out and they were very apologetic and offered some compensation which I appreciated. That kind of cleanliness and repair issues is a miss on the most basics

Disappointing to discover parking was 15$. Didn’t find that clearly shown before booking, info came in email with check in info.
Room clearly not deep cleaned. Sheet and bed skirt with stains, carpet not vacuumed at all (hard to capture crumbs in a carpet in a photo but the whole room had little bits in the carpet). Otherwise looked in good condition and bed and pillows were comfortable. No in room info with hotel amenities so no way to quickly check pool or fitness room times.

The hotel requires renovation. The staff are pleasant but lack amenities coffee bar is not continually staff.

I stay often at hotels by the airport before or after a trip. This Sandman would be my choice going forward. Front desk was fantastic, great having a Moxies on site and the room was lovely.
