Disappointing
I booked the Juliana for 2 nights 4-6th December 2024 for my daughter and I to enjoy the Christmas markets. On arriving at 7pm the hotel looked fabulous and festive but there was no one at reception.
When the staff did show up they were delightful, welcoming and helpful. In particular, Amadeo on reception, Vondi who showed us up to the room, and Pablo who got us more pillows and water for the room
The room (308) was stylish and comfortable, not very big, but more the good enough for my adult daughter and I.
We slept well but were woken by building noise at 7am. The hotel had not mentioned the extensive construction work going on in the square. See my images for a video of the sound.
There is no view from 308, no problem.
But noise, yes.
I did ask if we could move to a quieter room, but there was no availability.
The bed was initially very comfortable with a firm memory foam mattress, but both mornings on waking my back was aching and I felt very stiff. The pillows on the other hand, varied in size and firmness and very comfortable.
The shower room is large and warm and the towels and shower luxurious.
We ordered room service at 9.30pm after a long day out, or at least tried to. The room has a tablet for all hotel information - which is genius but requires WiFi - and the reception in 308 is terrible: weak and drops out all the time. So I tried phoning the room service order through, the phones weren’t working.
So I called down to reception on my iPhone - the receptionist could not hear or understand me properly as the line was so poor. See my frustration?! In the end I managed to explain where I was and that the WiFi was not working and so it was soon reset remotely - fantastic!
So we ordered room service - soup and cold cuts. Only to be called back and told there was no soup. So I ordered fois gras. When it arrived the pate was rock solid. And my daughter’s cold cuts were frozen (see video) and inedible.
In summary, the hotel is beautiful and in a great location for exploring Brussels, but the details of the room and the room service were frustrating and disappointing.

A chaotic mismanaged mess
Upon check-in, I distinctly remember asking Nina how much the laundry service cost and I was informed that it was at no extra cost, which stuck out to me because I have never stayed in a hotel where laundry was included. At check-out, however, Natalia spent several minutes attempting to charge me for this service before agreeing to waive the fees as Nina had admitted it was her miscommunication. Unfortunately I was later charged for them anyways, and when I called the hotel, Natalia now insists she informed me of these fees during my stay despite never mentioning that during check-out or before she agreed to waive my fees. My room was also initially billed for teas, a Caesar salad, and parking among other things which I never purchased.
On my final night, I went to the front desk at around 5 am to ask for water and there was not a single receptionist in sight. I rang the call bell and waited around for a while before deciding to walk behind the desk and grab a water bottle myself. Later, I asked the front desk to book my ride for the airport and was told the price of the taxi would be €60, only for me to subsequently be charged €80 when the ride was over. It is truly baffling that any place which advertises itself as a luxury hotel would hire staff that are so uninformed and would leave the front desk unattended. Be careful about staying here and make sure to ask for an itemized receipt at check-out because this hotel will bill you for things you never agreed to pay for.
