Don't get ripped off!

So disappointed. I booked the hotel based on the pictures the hotel has on the booking platforms and TripAdvisor comments. When we arrived, we received an envelope as our check-in with instructions. Although the hotel had only 5 rooms occupied, we got a room in an entirely different building from the main house. The room was worn-out, the bathroom tiny and the staff completely absent. The breakfast was bread and fruit put out the evening before. Everything was serve-yourself. I had to call the hotel's phone to get someone to come out and help. Worst service ever.
There is no way a double room in this hotel during May is worth what we were charged.

Not the charm we were hoping for

Looked like there was extensive renovations going on, the check in was “face-less”, our key was taped to the front door with instructions to go to the back of the hotel and enter a code to find our room. The room was very IKEA-esque, with many features like the tables and light fixtures like something you would find at Target— which, nothing wrong with that (per se) but it doesn’t match the character of the main inn entrance. Felt like we were overcharged for the type of charm and history that we were expecting out of the room.

Motel style check in with little to no interaction with staff. General commons area is super nice. Hotel style room bathroom could use an update.
